Just three months ago in May, you may recall that someone made off with a laptap containing the Social Security numbers of 26.5 million people on file at the Department of Veterans Affairs, which really makes you want to protect yourself even more from becoming a victim of identity theft. In a Time magazine article, it was mentioned that a group of employees are suing Union Pacific Railroad over the casual way the company used the numbers to ID workers, a practice that became an issue in April when a computer with the names and numbers of 30,000 employees was stolen.

Financial institutions are the only group besides your employers that are required by law to collect your Social Security number. However,we all know that doctors, dentists, and hospitals often say that insurance companies require them. Not so. Unless you're using Medicaid, or Medicare, you are not required. We all give it out though, possibly to avoid going the extra rounds with them. They say you can't believe everything you read, however in this case you can take this to the bank. So how do these clever people get our Social Security numbers? Quite easy. For just a small fee, you can obtain just about all the information (background check) you need to know about a person. It's all under public records, if you have ever sued someone, had liens or judgements against you, credit cards, etc. If you go to zabasearch.com, you can get a birth date, close relatives associated with you, and more if you want to shell out the money. Case and point, why do celebrities need to worry? Stalkers can easily access information by simply looking them up and obtaining their addresses.

So here we are almost in September, and as you may already know it's when record companies release their cream de la creme, when the college kids are back in their dorms with lots of laundry money to spend at download sites, and Sam Goody's. Bob Dylan's "Modern Times" will be released on Aug. 29, it's been half a decade since the release of "Love and Theft". It's been three years since the release of The Rapture's debut "Echoes," now comes "Pieces of the People We Love." Speaking of the people we love, one of the most anticipated releases, no date yet, as of press time, is Guns N Roses', "Chinese Democracy." Memo to Axl Rose: It's really time to open up the vault. You may recall that Axl Rose in May, said on a radio program that it would finally be released this fall. Contrary to what some rock critics had predicted, the big news is that after a very successful European tour, Guns N Roses will be launching their U.S. tour on Sept. 16 in Las Vegas, at The Joint, according to their No. 1 fansite "Here Today Gone To Hell." Other bands that are rumored to release their albums before the end of the year are Linkin Park and 50 Cent.

Besides smelling like a Rose, "Who's the heiress of them all?" The ever-humble Paris Hilton, come October will be launching "Heiress", a fruity, floral, jasmine scent with earthy inspirations. Since dropping out of the 2007 movie "Dallas," Jennifer Lopez is adding yet another scent to her collection, "Live Luxe," a blend of fruity, floral mix combined with a touch of musk, vanilla and sandalwood.

Rose's Scoop: Do you have an adorable pooch? If so, auditions are being held beginning Sept. 9 in Los Angeles for the show "America's Cutest Puppies." The puppy must be between four and eight months old at the time of the audition.

FYI, I had emailed this to Jarmo and he didn't want to put this on the site, but I posted it anyway.

Jarmo isn't one to brag.? He is very modest, ethical, professional and a great friend.

Jarmo, you should be proud of this site.? You've accomplished a lot.

Don't ever be modest.? You deserve the best and the praise. Smiley

I've already wondered about that. I mean, when bbf replies to people through myspace it's pretty easy to know it's him. But sometimes when I've gotten in argurments with other posters, I've wondered "Hmm, what if this is someone from GNR messin' with us?".

I always thought that'd be hilarious. I think I'd probably do it if I was in a big band.

We know from some of the 02 boots that Axl doesn't like the internet but he sure knows whats being said on it, thats for sure.
