FAKE: Axl in Newport?

I heard from a close friend that Axl performed last night at some dive bar in Newport Beach.?

My friend was actually there walking by and she said that the line was getting really long and she asked the door man what was going on and he said that "Axl Rose is playing tonight around 12am".? She started laughing and thought he was joking, but he apparently wasn't.? She said that Axl sells out arena's, why on earth would he be playing at some small bar in Newport?? The doorman said something like he's popping up all over lately.?

She didn't end up staying (because she isn't a huge fan like I am and wanted to go to bed), so I don't know if this is true or not?? I called her again today, and she said she wasn't lying.?

If this is true, I guess we will hear soon enough.? If this isn't true, why would a doorman just lie like that?? I know my friend isn't lying.?

I have no idea what the bar name was.? I only know that it was by the airport, I guess.? I can get the name tomorrow.

can you find out the bar it was and call them to hear the story?

Hey, i live in RI and no one has said anything to me about him play in Newport. + i don't think there is a place to play in newport is small. RI is the smalest state in the US!!!

The only difference on this particular matter is that in 2006, the band has actually toured.

Doesn't lend any more credence to Axl throwing a secret gig in some obscure watering hole. I'm sorry, but it's a very different thing to do Hammersmith, The Warfield or even Rosario Dawson's birthday than some zero-promotion bar in Newport.

Newport Beach, Irvine, California bout an hour south of LA....... it could be true, he did catch a flight back to LA a couple of days ago, who knows, we need the name of the place etc, if he wanted a night out why bother going all the way down there, why not just go out on Sunset!

Yeah, that makes a whole lot more sense to me.  I remember the story about someone meeting him in the outbound to LAX terminal a few days ago.  I almost mentioned it, but then realized that someone would say "Yeah, but they probably had to stop on the East Coast before continuing on to the West Coast"

I was fairly sure there must be a Newport in CA.

Ok, I just found out the name of the place from my friend.

She said it was at Hogue Barmichaels in Newport California.  I went to the website and found out that Alders Appetite was playing there.  Now I know why the door man said Axl was there.  Steven probably tells him that to get more people in the door.
