I can't wait until we see the tour shirts, then we might know for sure.

Were there shirts for the Euro tour with dates on the back or something like that?

The shirts at Hammerstein Ballroom had the dates on the back too. They had all 4 sold out dates.

It'll be interesting too see when the band comes back to NY if they'll go for small venues like Hammerstein or go arena like Madison Square Garden.

Since they sold out MSG last time it looks like they'll most likely play there again.

Arco only seats 15,000 for a concert.   I would imagine they will sell over 10K in tickets prior to the day of the show.  They will come close to selling it out come showtime!

They played nearly the exact same places and venues in a row like this in 1993 -

04.03.93 - ARCO Arena, Sacramento, CA
04.04.93 - Lawler Events Center, Reno, NV
And what about the other dates? It may indicate what's their next steps...

They had a similar thing planned the last time around:

12.28.02 - Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, NV
12.30.02 - ARCO Arena, Sacramento, CA

San Jose might be included next if past dates are anything to go with. Maybe also a date in Pheonix and a couple in Texas.

Wow... It wasn't at all like when I ordered the Paul McCartney tickets, but jeez! I had a few seats in the lower deck at Section 122, and I wanted to see if I could get any in Sections 104-101, so I went back, and I lost my opportunity! Then, in a frantic mad dash, I tried to reclaim my 2 tickets in Section 122, and I got that wonderful little screen telling me "Your wait is 2 Minutes."

So I'm going "shit", and really hoping, and then it came up and let me buy. I don't think Arco will sell out, but we'll see. Paul sold out in like 10 minutes, so I don't anticipate the same here.

Any fans here gonna join me at Arco?

I am pulling great tickets up right now for all the shows.? I just bought tickets for Sac. & San Diego in the Loge areas--like 2nd row!? They may want to reconsider venues, for the next round of shows--IF one can still get virtually any area of seating they choose by mid-week.? ?They need to really think in the long-run here, not the short run!? Build momemtum, don't lose it.? ?yes

I got great tix for both Sacramento and San Diego as well and I got them yesterday with no wait time unlike when I got tix back in NYC for the Hammerstein shows.

Ticketmaster didn't bump me off this time.

For one show, I am on the floor and the other show, I am in the Loge area. peace

With airfare and hotels...it's gonna be about $746.76 but I plan on making this trip a mini vacation as well. peace

I would watch these closely (I may regret this post), but I am pulling up row 2 of Loge level seating everytime.  I don't know how these shows are selling right now.  They should pick-up closer to the concert date.

they just went on sale.. i'm sure a lot more tickets will go when there is more publicity, etc.. like after the inland invasion is done.

I agree Chief--like I said, I may come to regret the post.  With that said, they need to promote this, and promote it soon.  IMHO, the best way to promote an arena tour, is a sell out theatre tour this fall, with at least a single, an hour special live-footage show on either HBO, or available online, and a static release date.  Maybe, this time, they have plans in motion for the next few weeks!!  I can't wait for the shows, but I hope that in addition to myself, 10,000 more people are excited and at Sac and San Diego as well!!  Nothing like a huge crowd and GNR live!!

Just saw, that actually these two shows are starting to fill up!!

WAR--were you being sarcastic?

If you were serious, one can always look around on Ticketmaster or LiveNation for tickets.

Axl will be on MTV on Thursday night. That's promotion isn't it?

I think so (VMA's as promotion)!!   I do think, though, that in the U.S., tickets are going to be a tougher sale right now than in Europe.  I trust the management knows much more about what type of venues to schedule than I do, although, doing smaller shows really seems to fire people up in the US.  In the end, though, regardless of ticket sales, I know the shows are going to rock!  I've seen the band live three times this year, and it's soon going to be six!!!

After a fairly slow start (it is California, where they may take their time getting to the local box office), Sacramento and San Diego are beginning to fill up.  Considering each of these arenas seat about 14,000 people, I would say that sales are going pretty good.  Come show time, I would expect near sell outs.  With the larger venues it is very uncommon, barring the U2's and McCartney's of the world, for shows to sell out during the first few weeks of sales.

I can't understand why it seems like no one on this board has any faith in this band.
