Minnie, you know the size of these places?
According to the Reno Events Center webpage: "Its flexible 7,000 seat capacity and its location in the liveliest part of the city makes it the place to plan in Reno."
According to AOL cityguides for ARCO Arena, "It has a seating capacity of 17,317 and is known to be one of the loudest venues in the NBA because of a combination of wooden floors and very boisterous fans."?
*The figure of 17,317 is listed for NBA Basketball seating

Reno Events Center: 7,500*

They need to stick to the 7500-10,000 seat joints. Thanks for the info. At least they are mixing it up.

Do you think we might get an announcement for the tour? I man this is supposed to be the tour that launches the long awaited Chinese Democracy. You'd think a tour of this importance would be worthy of an official announcement.

They played
nearly
the exact same places and venues in a row like this in 1993 -
04.03.93 - ARCO Arena, Sacramento, CA
04.04.93 - Lawler Events Center, Reno, NV

Personally, I think Arco is too big unless they are planning on a major publicity storm in between now and the end of September.? I think doing two nights at 1500 to 6000 seat theatres in metro areas, is a far better U.S. tour strategy for this first go around.? Also, the intimacy of smaller venues will lead to better reviews (hence, the Hammerstein), which will help sell tickets for an arena tour next Spring or Summer.? I can see an arena in Chicago, Seatle or New York, but not Sacramento.? We'll see how this sells!? On the bright side, though, it is nice to see some more concert dates released!!

Arco is too big. They averaged 8600 on the last 2002 US TOUR, that is why they should play anything from 2000 to 10,000 seat venues. I doubt there will be any product on the radio or shelves before 9-30 so Arco is a leap. Chicago, Boston, and New York are fine for a full size arena show(basically the sellouts in 2002)...not Seattle!
