A friend of mine was in the UK last year and she tells me that bakeries over there don't make hot crossed buns over there anymore, because there's a cross on them and it could offend someone. I thought she was bullshitting me.

maybe we should have complained when Mohhamed Yousuf bowed and kissed the earth to allah when he scored a century for Pakistan in the recent test series.

Where muslims come in to this i dont know - some of you need to engage your brains before writing.
Muslims are mentioned in the first post.
Considering who started it, I'm not surprised.

Apparently, he offended a few Muslims, and was charged with inciting religious hatred. White, Christian British will be a minority in their own country in this century. Even as a kvlt black metal fan, this sickens me.
This isn't politics. This is the West at risk of extinction.
Hey, imagine that. Somebody using a situation like this for their own cause.... That has never happened before has it??
Thanks 2Na for showing how stupid the whole idea of this thread is. Walk does it again...
Too bad for him/her, 2NaFish's posts made the thread starter look like an ignorant fool.

I have to disagree and say the thread starter is capable of doing that all on his own...............

People are too afraid to be anti-something-or-other that they become so politically correct that it's wrong. That's what happened here. But Western culture isn't going to become extinct, as someone suggested...
thats not what happened here at all. He was trying to incite 50,000 people.
his actions couldve led to murders. thats not an over exaggeration. if he wants to cross himself, fine. however he did it to wind people up - he is in a position of responsibility when on the football pitch and he abused that.
2nafish, you make some very good points. Plus, you have a hilarious avatar! I don't know why it makes me laugh but it does. Now, does the soccer league have set rules for the behavior of its athletes? If so, the players must be held accountable to the league's rules. I'm talking massive fines and long suspensions if not completely kicking them out of the league. Now about where he made the sign of the cross. To me, it shouldn't matter whose stadium he does it in, if it's against league policy, it's against league policy. If calamity strikes after the incendiary gesture, he should be held partially responsible as should those who over-reacted in the crowd. Does that sound fair? To me it does.

You English people used to tolerate way way too much the ayatollahs in your country during too many years. Why didn't you fight them when they were still not a threat for your country? Now, i think it's too late and will be very difficult for you to solve this problem in the short term. It will probably takes a long time...
In France, we do have also problems with islamism, some rioters last november in paris screamed "Allah Ouakbar" and called to the Djihad. But it has always been clear: either they respect the French laws, or they are put in Charters (planes) and are kicked out of france. A kick in the ass and bye bye. That's what you should have done as well since the begining. As a result, we (still) don't have French Kamikazes in France, well, there are some french kamikazes and suicide bombers who went to irak (some muslims teenagers and young men from the surbubs), but they still haven't bombed their own country like last year in England. I'm sure it will, soon or late. It's a question of time. But it's not for immediatly in France. We can still stop them and kick them out of France or send them to jail, ou secret services are very good. I tell you: French secret and security services might be the best in the world. better than the CIA. They are more intelligent, they don't do any mistakes. They work in the shadow and they do a fantastic job. That's probably why we haven't had a 9/11 or a London bombing summer yet or something like that in france yet.
But one day, it will happen. You can't be at 100% forever.
Watch that:

No, this is not Baghdad, Gaza or Teheran, this is what happened in the surbubs of Paris last November. Do you get it now?

thats awful. If Muhammad Yousuf can do sajdah (bow to allah) after he's got a century in cricket then surely this guy should also be able to praise to however. This is awful. Eradication of religions this is.

it wasnt the fact that he crossed himself that got him in trouble, it was the fact that he did it intentionally to annoy the rangers fans. around a quarter of the premier league players in scotland cross themselves when they enter the park and nobody ever minds; boruc did it for the rangers fans and it was dangerous and stupid.
there are no set rules on this point - just the usual stuff about bringing the game in to disrepute and the law of the land on inciting hatred/riots which are pretty open to conjecture.
oh, and he also plays for one of the Old Firm (Rangers and Celtic) who are the establishment in scottish football. they dominate the corridors of power so no real action will be taken against him. this is mainly for show as rangers and celtic have been threatened with point deductions by FIFA due to their fans sectarian singing at matches.
