It was played throughout 1993. The concert footage you see in the video is actual concert footage from a 1993 concert in germany. (with the exception of a few closeups which were reshot)

You could start a thread like this for a lot of songs we haven't heard. ?I don't think anyone has ever flat out asked if the new band would learn every old song. ?I'd imagine they will not. ?I thought I read in here though that Richard said perhaps they may play Civil War at some point.

I believe that it would be an insult to play without Slash, who painstakingly wrote the guitar parts for Axl.

Axl: "I really was sincere about thanking him for doing that and the work that he did on this song is really special and really special to me.  I was very appreciative of him doing that."

Glad you appreciate your guitarist writing guitar parts for the band. Nice one. At least he didnt reject that one.

Estranged is so Slash heavy. who is to know, maybe the new band have attempted to play the song. It would make sense to only play the pre CD songs that work really well performed live by the latest line up.

I think the song is to "personal", don't think we will ever here it live again, unless by chance there is a reunion.  Not to sound negative though does anyone else agree?

Reading the posts on this subject but no-one has answered it. The reason its probably not played is that it was difficult. I remember an interview with the original members of the band, think it may have been on one of the Illusion video's but don't quote me on that. Duff or Dizzy commented on the song being really hard to get right live. Maybe Axl thinks its irrelevant these days.

It was never a great song live anyway.  You can only have so many songs like that in a set without killing momentum.  November Rain is always going to be played.  Two 9 minute, piano based ballads is a lot especially since they're going to be playing The Blues at all the shows too.  You have to mix the rockers with the slower songs, adding Estranged to the set list just isn't going to happen

WHAT THE FUCK!?

Not a great song Live?

Shit dude... get off the crack and then listen again.  It was fucking amazing.  The part in Tokyo, where Axl goes "WOAH" before the slash solo... just makes my hair stand on the back of my neck!  Fucking amazing song live!

jeez!
