I would be great to get a CD dominant setlist at the Vegas shows, then after that balance out the rest of the shows, but I think GNR has to do something to just get CD material out there, if they can't manifest a way to release it.

Whats everyones predictions on the ticket prices for Vegas? I HOPE it's around Hammerstein's prices...125 is a little steep even for a venue this small.

I'd say probably a bit less, around $100.  Most big name shows in casino theaters tend to draw a good deal more than their regular tour prices.
Tool was $65-85, so I would say GnR may be $80-100.

Then again, I'd be far from shocked if the tickets were $125 again. the only reason I think the ones in 01 would be a bit more is because GnR was doing NO shows around the time.  GnR have done, what, 42 shows this year?

$125 for Floor and $250 for balcony, Floor is better.  Saw them there in 2001.

I believe they were closer to $250 [Just checked, and floor was actually $150] when I saw them at HOB in 01 - so I would suggest expecting them to cost quite a bit more...

01/01/01 was the return of GNR, it was 7 years since their last show .... but which was the better performance 01/01/01 or the end of 01 shows?  Theres no doubt in my mind that 2006 is going to be the stand out based on what the year has produced from GNR so far.

No question, these shows should be, by far, the best of the Vegas shows.  Though the 12/29,31/01 shows were a blast, Axl's voice is in a way better place this year.  Though I still think Buckethead was the best guitarist GnR has had since Slash, Robin Finck really stepped it up in 2006.  He went from a timid, unsure-of-himself 'throw away,' to a real force in Guns N Roses.   Though he can't be what bucket was, he's done a stellar job, acing as a man possesssed, putting everything he possibly can into his performances.  Richard has really stepped up as well, though his role isn't as large.  In years past, they truly did not seem to be a band onstage.   Now, they really are.   I'm excited for these shows. Hopefully they can manage to learn how to mix sound properly in a room this size; I was not happy at all, sound-wise, at the Joint in 01, and Hammerstein was not much better --- the vocal mix is just never right on the louder numbers.

This is what the set list should be at the vegas, cali and shows up until CD comes out, if they dont want to ?play anymore new songs.

They can change the order, but those should be the songs, they could mix in other songs like out to get me and rocketqueen, my michelle, but they should play all the leaks and live songs from 02. The set list should have atleast 6 new songs plus the firist single.

that would be great, 8 new songs, as long as they start to balance out and play their own material, obviously we are their fans, so we are goign to support their new material.  I know this might be off topic but I ve been thinking why buckethead quit and maybe he just got tired of playing old songs, bc he s confident in his material and thats what he wants to play, just a though

I hope when CD drops at every least they do 10 new and 10 old. They can rotate the new and old songs they play to change up the set lists.

James Blunt tickets are $84 so I would imagine GnR are going to be around the same.

I would at least like to hear a song they never played live as well, like I Don't Care About You, or Anything Goes (I dont know if they played that live or not, if so, 'my bad') I'd even like to hear SHADOW OF YOUR LOVE

I don't care if it is the same set list or not. I am there for the performance. The Hard Rock has an amazing venue, better than the NYC gig I think. I can't wait to be there again...........

Honestly Im getting concerned about getting the actual tickets. I want to go sooo bad. But I dont understand how this presale will work, and with a 1,500 seat capacity, well...

Sunday I think will be out of the question for me so...Saturday or bust. Damn, just 2 tickets to the Saturday gig...that is all I ask of the music gods. Just 2 tickets to the Saturday gig, and Chinese Democracy released. Is that asking too much?

Richard Fortus, the phenomenon

« Reply #119 on: August 15, 2006, 05:25:27 AM »

I still hope they will return with 2 guitar players (Robin and Richard). Don't get me wrong, I like bbf, I like the guy, but this band could be even more a "real band" with just 2 guitar players. They would be tigher! It would look less like "Axl and his hundreds musicians onstage". The European Tour was already very good. But they could still do better if they arranged a few things.
