I say yes. It's been about six months since the leaks came out and they sound a great as ever. I'm still really digging them and find them to be more satisfying then the band's actual released music. I think CD may be the band's finest album...knock on wood...

I say no.
The only new song I listen to nowadays is Chinese Democracy. Occasionally CITR or IRS.
Im sure the album will own, but the demos really aren't that great.

I hope cd comes out and some singles or vids happen.. Can;'t keep living on boot forever, for christ sake tommy has more solo albums then new gnr albums and it's only one since 98

Absolutely. Plus you gotta remember this... These songs are incredible, and they aren't even the final version of them. They'll sound 10 times better on the album. So really, you can't say no to the songs yet, because they aren't in their final form. I strongly believe that these songs will be noted as some of the best work.

A resounding no!!!!
Better = Nu-metal all the way. Cheers Robin.....
Chi Dem = a riff a 6 year old could write.
IRS - Weak rocker with the worst intro theyve ever done.
CITR - 'Quick we need a singalong, wheres my Beatles cd'?
The Blues - Not bad.
Madagascar - Just terrible. Sampling Civil War speech etc!! Cmon....
Rhiad - Terrible
Silkworms - Terrible
TWAT - Love it.
See, I dont think theyre all rubbish. But tell me theyre as good as Appetite or even most of Illusions and I guess I'll laugh in your face.
Dont get upset, its just opinion....

I don't know. It's definitely not such an impact as the Appetite and Illusions songs are to me. See I kinda like Chinese Democracy and TWAT. The Blues is OK also but Silkworms, Rhiad - no good at all.

Yeah they do.
Besides, what's
"GN'R's best work"
? AFD, UYI's ?
To me AFD is not their best work, and the CD demos we have is way better ... (but then, it's probably because I'm tired of AFD
)
Dont get upset, its just opinion ...

I dont think they do...I like them, but I think Appetite is just too good, and a different style - its gone even more overboard than the illusions. (IMO)

Remember boys and girls..
ROUND1: The Blues, Madagascar, Silkworms, Rhyiad, Chinese Democracy..
4 year wait..
ROUND2: IRS, Better, There was a Time,Catcher in the Rye..
? year wait..
ROUND3: The release of CD and the rest of the tracks
(part of me thinks Better, IRS and There was a Time is as good as it going to get)

Yes, but I find that Im actually more musically tuned when I'm high. For me Better is nu-metal. Ok whiny, Industrial tinged nu-metal now that Im really high.
Sorry I dont like it, I know Im supposed to but I dont.

I really like There Was A Time and Catcher in the Rye.
I am not a big fan of the drum machine loops that occur in a lot of the new songs.

No way it "Better" nu-metal. Nu-Metal is KORN, Limp Bizkit--sounds like the inside of a meat grinder, no melody or solos.

I agree that "Better" is not nu-metal by any means. Axl's not rapping like Jonathan Davis from Korn or growling like Corey Taylor from Slipknot. It's too insanely catchy and beat-driven to be nu-metal like that. If anything, the juxtaposition of the poppy verses and choruses and the metal-ish middle section remind a little of System of a Down's schizo style fusions with songs.
I love "There Was A Time", for me it's like a modern day "Estranged". I love the riff to "Chinese Democracy" and the beauty of "The Blues", and the Beatles-esque flow of "Catcher In The Rye".
I love the songs, but final judgement should be reserved for the finished products.
