Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

Madagascar sounds a little different and not as similar to We Will Rock You as The Blues is. Although i do see what you mean. Hearing Live leeds 2002 Madagascar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G4q3qNcQaKA it's has hit why the *new* Gn'R sounds so different the old Gn'R (noticeably on the new tracks) i think it's in the drumming. AFD Era drumming was faster and more manic, at least i think so.

here's the quote.... "It's a very complex record, I'm trying to do something different. Some of the arrangements are kind of like Queen. Some people are going to say, 'It doesn't sound like Axl Rose, it doesn't sound like Guns N' Roses.' But you'll like at least a few songs on there"

most of you guys have prolly already read it but anyway there it is ok

Lord yes, about the AFD drumming, Adler is one of the loosest most freefalling drummers ever.  He doesn't pound the drums and he doesn't seem methodical.  It's like his arms just seem to be freefalling on every beat.  It's cool.  Smiley  Adler is a real rock drummer if there's ever been one.

I still think Alder plays It's So Easy better than all the other Gn'R drummers. Matt Sorum destoyed/killed the fast pass intro to It's So Easy, and added some odd ball timing to the song. While the song took place in the same time frame, Matt Sorum's drumming made It's So Easy sound slower  peace

Your threads are boring.

You start this thread to discuss the drumming on The Blues and instantly make it about "new vs old".

Boring!

Go watch your old bootlegs and come back when you have something to say.
