I read it on wikipedia...

Advice to everyone - never cite Wikipedia for anything.

It was a song written before Appetite was released but never added

It was the first single form the Illusion Albums

No Demos are in circulation that we know of

Additional Info: According to Axl, "You Could Be Mine" was written about Izzy's ex-girlfriend Angela. The line "I think I've seen that movie too" is taken from the Elton John song "I've Seen That Movie Too".

In Their Own Words

Slash: When we were at SRS Studios doing pre-productions for Appetite. That was one of the songs that were gonna be on the Appetite. We hadn't really finished it in time to put it on album so we sat it on backburner until we did Use Your Illusion.

Slash: The beginning of "You Could Be Mine" has got feedback on it which sounds like more than one guitar, but it's just one guitar.

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

I think to everyone that would of been the greatest album. AFD is already regarded as one of the best debut rock albums of all time but if they had of swopped those songs around then, wow it really would of been somethink else.

I remember they originally were going to release Don't Cry as the first single off the Illusion albums, but went with YCBM instead-I think because of Terminator-I love Don't Cry, but YCBM was an awsome choice as first single-when the video came out GNR and the anticipation of UYI was red hot

I was just listening to Rolling Stones song Emotional Rescue the other day.  Mick Jagger repeatedly says "You could be mine" throughout the song.

Well since The Stones were a big influence on Izzy, that's where the title came from?
