Relevance is a weird subject in the music world.

Do you really think Better is relevant?

Absolutely, there's not a lot of bands that are making music that sound like that, it would be a unique song on the radio. It's also risky, it takes a chance 2:40 in when it goes metal and breaks away from a convential radio song format... and Axl/Merck/The Band know that. Wink

GN'R is not half as big as the Stone's.? I love GN'R but the Stones have been doing it for 40 some yrs with basically the same members.? They are the biggest Rock N Roll band ever.? They can open for the Stones.? They should.

Any reason behind that or is that it?

I don't forsee Axl Rose wanting Guns N Roses to be looked at as a nostalgia act.. Aerosmith/Motley Crue/Rolling Stones, they aren't doing anything relevant today. Guns N Roses upcoming release Chinese Democracy is going to have relevancy, meaning it's going to generate a lot of new fans, have mass appeal for radio markets, and be a sound album for non-corporate radio music fans to listen too as well. I don't see Axl Rose wanting to play back up to a nostalgia act anytime soon. I've also heard rumors that places such as The Palace in Auburn Hills are having dates blocked off for an upcoming gnr tour, if Guns was going to tour with the Stones, they'd be playing 40,000-60,000 seat venues.. not the palace. So I put my opinion of the chances of this happening at 0%.

Good answer.

If conventional radio format is what you're gunning for  then thy would take that metal break out (or whatever the fuck it is) and condence it so it fits.

What do you guys think the chances are for them to open for Mick and the boys when the Stones come back to U.S. in September?  It would be awesome publicity for GNR .  Plus it would make up for the shows they were supposed to play with them till' Keith decided to climb a cocunut tree.  Has anyone heard anything?

The time caps are pretty strict at Giants so I don't forsee Axl getting himself on stage at like 7pm, he probably wakes up at this time.

Besides the fact as I stated when this thread was posted originally, the Stones charge outrageous prices for tickets and IMO they do not perform well anymore and it just isn't worth the money.

Axl and Co. are best out on their own, they can headline at smaller venues.
