When the new single is released, the band should well take advantage of these and similar sites to get the music and buzz out there fast..

what do you guys think of this angle to the promotion?

I have a fan new  gnr myspace account, no music tho since it would get deleted but I have tons of friend request a day. I have just some half ass gnr fan one since  i suck at html, and have close to 600 people on my friends list. Gnr would be wise to do a myspace page.

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

Guns N Roses don't even have a real website (yet) so I don't think they'd have a myspace

Yeah, and Slayer and a bunch of other people have done "free album previews" where you can listen to the whole album via the myspace page.  I was surprised at that because Slayer's so...well, Slayer.  But i doubt GNR would do that, because its all about the hype.

well with youtube you people will upload the video so many times... As for myspace it would be cool to do like they did with superman, but as we know nothing ever happens so I doubt they will use any of the avenues, the fans will but not them directly..

They need to do this. Via my own MySpace page, I have been exposed to a lot of new music I never would have heard of. Of course, they need to get an official web page going too. This is just one part of a multi-part marketing campaign they should undergo that wouldn't cost that much.
