san andreas wasnt my favorite of the GTA games.  i didnt like the whole gangsta theme of it.
and some of the missions were just pointless.   but that exists in every GTA game.

the mission i loved was when you had to drive a motorcycle onto a moving plane, kill some guys, plant a bomb
then jump out and parachute to the ground.   that was sweet.

I seem to have lost my copy - been looking for weeks....

Its truly amazing as a game - the sheer size - and on one disk? Shows how lazy virtually every other games programmers are!

I thought the soundtrack let it down big time - in Vice City it was full of biting satire, but San Andreas seems to have overlooked that this time, Lazlow appears for about 30 seconds! The track selection leads a lot to be desired - set in 1992 and no Nirvana or Pearl Jam - and Welcome to the jungle instead of an Illusions track?

Cant wait for the next one and i can only imagine how good the graphics must be on the pc version...

Vice city was my favorite of the games...i just picked up liberty city stories and it's actualy quite refreshing to have a GTA that is slimmed down again.

but back to Vice City....like Izzy said the songs were way better and the DJ's were better and the stations had the feel of real DJ's...San Andreas just feels like some dudes reading dialogue off paper in a studio

I made the fatal mistake of buying this game at university.  All we ever used the Ps2 for was multiplayer stuff and just messing about, so in all the time i've had it all we ever did was put all the cheats on and go round killing and having fun, was cool for that, being able to swim made this real cool, and the cheat for driving on water, haven't touched the game in about 6 months, i may actually try and do some missions because on the previous 2 games i really enjoyed them and the missions, i also bought libert city stories a few weeks back bought the piss poor graphics has kind of held me back from playing to much, seems like a cheap cash-in.....

well in fairness it was made for the PSP so they prolly didn't wanna sink too much in in case the system flopped...I haven't really played it but the little i did it was kinda refreshing to go back and just play a simple game again hihi and it was like visiting an old freind by seeing and driving thru liberty city Grin I almost wanna go buy the first 2 games again and play them all in chronological order Cheesy

You wouldn't believe how long it took me to get thru the flying stage the first go around. That was probably the hardest mission for me.

I bought it back when it came out and I spent ages on it, I did a few missions but eventually I got fed up so I just messed around with it for a few weeks, during which my brother completed it. If I'm playing it, I still mess around most of the time  Grin but I started a new game a couple of months ago and I completed it. Well...I say completed, but there are stupid little things like collecting the horseshoes that I haven't done  Roll Eyes

There are so many funny things you can do with San Andreas, and loads of funny things that just happen. This morning I saw an FBI car on top of a dome-shaped roof...

It's a quality game, the size of it is unbelievable, it's hard to imagine a game getting bigger than that. The flying missions and toy plane missions are very hard took me a long time to do those. My favourites were the bike onto plane and parachute off mission, the casino robbery mission that takes about 20 minutes and also the mission that takes you back to liberty city I thought that was a nice touch. Also really love the jetpack but getting ti from area 51 is a right pain of a mission. The next full GTA game for PS3 is rumoured to be 7 times the size of San Andreas  Shocked

No way - that would be the equivalent of rendering an entire...well, i dunno! I'm not sure just how big San Andreas is, never tried to drive one side to the other - 50 miles across perhaps? 100 miles? Anyone know the scale used?

That's what I read it's supposedly going to be a whole country this time. I have read the size of SA somewhere but I can't remember what it is, although 32km rings a bell for some reason.

An entire country? Wow!! Shocked Shocked Shocked

Has anyone else heard that the next Grand Theft Auto game will be released for X-Box first, rather than Playstation?
May 9, 2006 - Rockstar Games announced today the next chapter in the Grand Theft Auto series, titled (surprisingly) Grand Theft Auto IV. The announcement offered little in terms of actual details regarding story and game mechanics, however, it did confirm that Rockstar North, developers of Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, are handling the latest iteration.

The only other piece of information concerns the release date. GTA 4 will ship simultaneously for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 16, 2007. In Europe, the game will ship on October 19, 2007.

The announcement that Grand Theft Auto IV would be coming to both systems listed above was actually a bit of a surprise. At first, this surprise was because Sony's platforms had a history of landing the franchise first, but then it was because it seemed that the game was being positioned as an Xbox 360 exclusive following Microsoft's announcement of the title just minutes ago at its E3 press conference.
