Okay, I'm ready to review this album.

The album starts off with a bang as many have said with "Life Wasted" and "World Wide Suicide." Then "Comatose" hits... Comatose isn't as strong off a song, in my opinion, then some of the other songs on this disc. But, they pick it back up again with "Severed Hand" and "Marker In The Sand." "Severed Hand" has a really good beat to it and "Marker In The Sand" is a bit of a slow/fast song mixed and this is another one of my favs.

Then, one of the most unusual songs for them to do is "Parachutes" which is a nice slow song. Then, they get loud again with "Unemployable" and "Big Wave." I like both of these songs but "Unemployable" is better.

Then, they slow things down with a possible single in "Gone", followed by "Wasted Reprise" and "Army Reserve." To me, Gone, Wasted Reprise and Army Reserve together is the best part of this album. Gone and Army Reserve would be excellent singles and Wasted Reprise is too short and if a longer song could have been the strongest song on this album.

Then, they end the album with "Come Back" and "Inside Job." "Come Back" is another one of those slow jams by Pearl Jam that I love. "Inside Job" took me a while to like and it's just an average song to me.

All in All, I definitely think this is a solid effort. I give it an 8 out of 10. This is my favorite since Yield. And, I love Yield.

I think you about nailed it ok

Wasted Reprise is too short and if a longer song could have been the strongest song on this album.

I absolutely love this song. Considering Life Wasted opens the album on an upbeat note, the reprise would have been great as the closer. Would have created a great theme for the album. The "I'm not ever going back" parts that are repeated in both songs are presented in the opening as if sung by someone hopeful that they have learned from there mistakes and will be a better person for it. In the reprise they are sung as if someone who has tried to learn from their mistakes but has still been beaten down by life.
Reprise reminds me of the "Untitled" song that was always the lead in to MFC during the live sets. It could be viewed as a hopeful sog or a very sad song.

There are two other songs on Pearl Jam that I think could be linked. "Gone" being the beginning of a story and "Comeback" being the answer. The more I listen to this CD the more I am really impressed with it.

Thanks to Kujo I just went and bought this and Ive only got to briefly skim it but I find myself singing "Come Back"

Life Wasted, World Wide Suicide and Gone are all ive had to time to listen to so far and  Ican tell they are gonna be great cause I sorta liked them on the first listen but I can tell they kick ass and after a few more listens I will definitely love them.

Im gonna give the album a good listen here in a little while and Ill post in a few days my review.

I always like to listen to an album properly at least 5 or 6 times before review cause it takes time to fully digest everything.

That's what everybody should do with every album.  peace

Problem is some people give a review without listening to the album at all.

I couldnt tell u how many albums Ive hated one listen through that have turned out to be some of the greatest albums ever

I hated Contraband, I hated Prince's new CD I hated Bon Jovi's new cd

now they are amongst my all time favorites.

Stadium Arcadium will be the same way, I hear people giving a bad review on one listen.

Now how the fuck could u digest 28 songs in one listen enough to make a review?

Same with PJ.

From what I can hear they are pretty complex which takes a lot of time to fully understand.

Great album.

But then again I've enjoy all their albums more or less.

This time around it does seem like they've focused more on getting the whole album better. More focused.

My favorite of the last 4 albums. Come back is  the best song I heard all year long, I also enjoy Marker in the sand, Gone and parachutes.

I haven't bought tickets yet. I'll buy tickets for the barcelona show in early september. I've never seen them live so I'm sure looking forward the show.

Come Back almost ranks right up there with Black and Nothing Man for me.

This song is haunting and had me depressed like hell for about 3 days, i finally had to stop listening to it cause it was drivin me crazy.

Overall great album. Money definitely well spent.

I dont think there is a filler or bad track on the album.

Life Wasted,WWS,Parachutes,Gone,Comeback,Marker In the Sand are my favorites right now. Also the wasted Reprise. Man I wish that was longer than 53 seconds.

Marker in the Sand's chorus is amazing, his growl is reallyprominent and once again, I cant listen to this too much or Id slit my wrists.

Its beautiful but fuckin depressing as hell.

I like the album, but there is no truly great song on it. There's some good jams, but nothing special. I'd give it a 7.5 - better than Riot Act but not as good as Binaural

Got the album yesterday and I think it's good. Might take a few more listens to sink in though.

I hate all these reviews saying that it sounds like Ten and Vs, because I didn't hear that at all.
It's like people expecting Metallica to put out another Master Of Puppets, it ain't gonna happen with them and it ain't gonna happen with Pearl Jam either.

Anyway, if anything, it sounds a bit like Vitalogy in parts. Comatose sounds like Spin The Black Circle too.

They're touring Australia November this year, so I look forward to seeing them live!
