Their new album titled, Pearl Jam, is coming out on May 2nd.  Starting on March 8th you can download their first single, Worldwide Suicide, for free from their website.  Also, more announcements are planned for March 7th... I assume this is the track list for the album and tour dates.  Check out the new look of their site.  it's pretty cool.

Jarmo, if you really want to fit in with everyone around here you're going to have to start  quoting the thread above you and add about 11 ok and about 15  beer and about 9  drool just to suffice.

 Wink

This is more good news. I may be one of the few here that actually liked Riot Act and Binaural, but I'm really looking forward to where this new CD leads. Good timing on the release also, by May 2nd I'll probably have worn out Mindcrime2 ok beer drool

I'm excited about new album !!!
Some spanish site called Mariskalrock.com has the opportunity to hear 6 new tunes from the new album, and are ready to travel to US to have an interview with the band. According to their review, the new songs they heard sound like back in the original pearl jam sound, and describe it as aggresive.

The new single World Wide Suicide will be available to FREE download from the new PJ site, next wednesday (march 8 ).

Set list confirmed:

Life Wasted
World Wide Suicide
Comatose
Severed Hand
Marker In The Sand
Parachutes
Unemployable
Big Wave
Gone
Wasted Reprise
Army Reserve
Come Back
Inside Job

And I notice something really cool... In the official website Pearl Jam posted a few days ago a picture that everybody tought it was the cover (like a paper bag, just with Pearl Jam? written on it) but the paper has been slowly tear it down from the upper right corner, unveiling a blue cover. really cool.

So you'd rather listen to what other people tell you instead of finding out for yourself?

Besides, they're an amazing live band... Long sets that they don't repeat night after night.  Cool

the first two albums were solid, after that every cd has its GREAT songs and its good songs, but it also has its bad songs. I guess anything short of perfection (the first two) wasn't good enough anymore. Instead we got stuff like green day polluting the radio.

Yeah, Ten and Vs are two of my favourite albums, after that they started to sway from their heavier rocking style, to more laidback / experimental.
This new album is said to be pretty aggressive, so I'm definitely gonna check it out.

The last album of theirs I bought was No Code.

Pearl Jam is a great band, I have all their albums and none has disappointed me, they have a big musical integrity, they are not commercial, all their works are honest and with excellent killer lyrics.  They are a band that never has guided themselves for the fashion and have been always original.

Before criticizing Pearl Jam, take a look at their history, be informed of how they have defended their fans and how they always want to offer them the best.  Read their lyrics and hear the music.

Pearl Jam is unique.

I can't believe it has been almost 4 years since their last studio stuff.. seems like only last year.

Anyway very cool that you can download their new single  Cool  Haven't really made my mind up on it yet. Not really very catchy for radio from my first listen.

It's ok, not one of their better ones.

Still i'm sure the album will be great, i seem to be one of the few here who actually likes ALL their albums.

I like the new song, it does sound like a bit of a throw back to the Vitalogy days to me.

I hope they keep progressing their sound. I don't want to hear 10 part 2 or Versus, The Sequel.

They were in Kerrang Magazine this week, they said it was their most aggressive record yet. Wink

Great. I love hearing Mike McCready let loose live. Hopefully that translates onto the studio album. If this is their most agressive record, it should mean an extremely intense live show drool
