Just picked up Rearviewmirror and had a question about it.

Are all the tracks remixes on this thing? So far I have listened to the 1st five tracks and none of them sound like the copies of the songs I have from "Ten".

It clearly states that 'Once' and 'Alive' are remixes but 'Jeremy', 'Evenflow' and 'State of Love and Trust' also sound different from what I am used to hearing.

Or am I imagining things?

I think then "Ten" era tracks are remixed. Also "Who You Are" is different:

Rearviewmirror version:

take me a for a ride before we leave...
avalanche falling fast
gliding wings, happenstance

No Code version:

take me a for a ride before we leave...
circumstance, clapping hands
driving winds, happenstance

I don't hear any difference in State Of Love And Trust. It's the same version as on the Singles soundtrack.

Once, Black and Alive were remixed.
Even Flow is the version from the video (Just a different studio version)
I think Jeremy might be the video version too? They remixed that song back in '92 for the Video.

The tour starts tonight!!!? I've never seen them, almost did in 2003 (I won't get into that), but I will see them 3 times on this tour...? Ottawa and the 2 shows in my hometown, St. John's, Newfoundland.? I can't fucking wait.? Newfoundland NEVER gets bands this big so those shows are going to be wild.? Yeah, I am a little excited.? Who else is going to be seeing them on this mini tour??

You're from Newfoundland?? Cool! I'm living in St Johns right now, going to MUN.
I saw Pearl Jam twice in September. We hung outside the stadium after the show and met up with Wintersleep as well as Pearl Jams crew. We got the crews autograpghs just for fun, and one of them gave us a handful of Eddie's picks, as well as the setlist that was onstage for the Sunday show.

I was really sad... on the setlist they had "Oceans" as the first song, but they played Elderly Woman instead.
They also had "Deep", "Fuckin' Up," "Yellow Ledbetter," "Off He Goes" and "CROWN OF THORNES" on the setlist to play... but cut them because of damn Mile One and their strict time limits.

Hopefully they'll come back around soon...

As for whoever is saying new Pearl Jam isn't as good as old Pearl Jam... I'd have to argue that. We've had 15 years to digest Ten. All CDs gain more appreciation after time it seems. When No Code came out pretty much everyone I knew hated it. Now it's looked at as probably Pearl Jams best CD amonst fans. I think Yield and Binaural are every bit as good as Ten. Riot Act was the only CD that I've been let down by. It just sounds lazy to me....

It's not the same.

In the intro the drums and guitar sound louder I think. And also the vocals sound clearer?

Yeah, people seem to complain about how PJ sucks nowadays. But every album has at least a few great tracks on them. When you put them all together you get an impressive collection of tracks.

Even the stuff that never made it onto their albums is great, for proof listen to Sad from the Lost Dogs album.

The opening riff is awesome. Great song.

The best from Lost Dogs (IMO) - Yellow Ledbetter and Footsteps don't count as they are amongst the top 5 Pearl Jam songs has ever written - is a short track called "U".

This could've been a single had it been oficially released as a part of any album...speaking of which and since I burned Lost Dogs, to which single was "U" a b-side? Jarmo, anybody?

Yeah, it was on Wishlist and I remember when I got it I thought "what a nice little tune, wonder why it wasn't on the album"....

I guess it just didn't fit the overall "theme" of Yield.

That's one of the best setlist I've seen posted here. Both encores are amazing.

I love Pearl Jam's first 3 albums, with Vs being my favourite, but after that I lost interest in the band. It seemed like the spark that made the first 3 rocking albums seemed to be gone. I've liked some songs on latter albums, but nothing really got me like the early stuff.

There's no doubt that Pearl Jam are a great band though, their live performances are testament to that.

According to Jonathan Cohen from Billboard, as PEARL JAM nears completion on its new studio album, the group has finalized the track list for its upcoming holiday single, sent annually to members of its Ten Club fan organization. This year's single will feature a live cover of the Elvis Presley-popularized 'Little Sister' with ROBERT PLANT, taped last October in Chicago, as well as demo of the new song 'Gone', which was debuted that same month during a show in Atlantic City, N.J.

I can't wait. Pearl Jam on May 2nd (possibly) and rhcp on May 9th, it will be a good month for me. Two bands I love the most.
