Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, QOTSA Supergroup Has Been Formed, Debut Single Coming This Friday
Ten Commandos is the name of a rock supergroup project featuring Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, drummer Matt Cameron of Soundgarden and Pearl Jam, Mark Lanegan of the Screaming Trees, frequent Queens of the Stone Age collaborator Alain Johannes, and Dimitri Coats of OFF!.
According to the latest announcement, the gang is set to unveil their debut single "Staring Down the Dust" on October 9, and follow it up with a full-length release in November.
The band's story dates way back to 2008, while the first concrete reports of the band being active surfaced last year.
Mr. Coats, who will be handling the vocal duties in the band, previously commented: "There was just an instant chemistry and a really creative and open situation where everybody's passing around the guitar and throwing in ideas. I sort of felt like I was in the grunge Beatles."
Describing the vibe of the tunes, the musician added "It's a little bit like 'Superunknown,' that kind of era of Soundgarden, mixed with Alain's kind of Stevie Wonder vibe."

Its interesting cause I wasn't a fan of early 90's Pearl Jam outside of the hits.
I prefer Pearl Jam, Backspacer and Lightning Bolt to Ten, Vs and Vitalogy
Call me crazy, but I see now how some GNR fans preferred CD over earlier stuff.

I love all of their albums. Their newer releases sound a bit more mellow/subdued compared to their earlier output, but seems to be the case with pretty much any band.

But the they try to balance it by releasing the faster songs as the first singles. Like "World Wide Suicide", "Life Wasted", "The Fixer", "Mind Your Manners"....

I'm a fan of all their albums including the rarities and b side stuff from Lost Dogs. There are ones i obviously like better then others but i love it all.

The only PJ album I don't find that interesting is Vitalogy. It's good, but I can't get a hold of it. It's all over the place and to me sounds like an ADHD person on acid. The later stuff is pretty damn amazing and shows how deep a band can get. Overall PJ is a fantastic combination of raw energy and mellow melodies.
Wish they would finally find their way to Finland.
