Anyone care to venture a guess when this will happen?

From their last trip to Rio, I know that those S.A. fans really love GNR and i'm sure a lot of them can't wait to see the band again.  They always got great crowds when they toured there and Axl loves them too. He gave one of the rare long interviews in 2001 in argentina when he was on vacation!!

I'm gonna guess a US tour from late Sept. through first week or so of January (for New Years), take a couple of weeks off, go South starting in March? I'll say go down to Mexico for a show or two, then to South America for a few weeks, then over to Asia, etc.

Actually, Richard told to several members of my board that they are gonna play in Brazil before the end of this year. He also said he hopes to play not only a big concert in Rio, but also in some other places.

There will be a South American tour and I know two things for sure:

1) It's definitely happening in January.
2) There will be at least 1 show in Rio.

I think South America concerts are overrated...
GNR have a big community of fans...
but as in USA... they are very very very fond in the past... wishing for slash and having a wrong idea of the new guys and axl...
and remember, people here is not very open minded....
the last impression they had of GNR.. was VMAs and it was highly criticized
JMHO...

South American concerts are not overrated, they just happen less often and latin people show more passion. Ive been to a Rolling Stones concert in Argentina and it fucking rocked anything ive seen in the states before  peace

I was wondering where will they play here in Rio: Apoteose, Rock City, Maracan? or... Copacabana (urgh)?

You can risk Copacabana off your list, Elton Jhon will do a concert there in 2007...

Maracan? I'm not sure because of the pan american games...
Apoteose...why not? I think it's the safest guees...but I would not risk Rock City off my list!!!! That place is still in use, Nine Inch Nails/The Stooges and some other bands played there last year in a festival, plus there's always some "Eletronic music" festivals there so...why not?!?

Well, if Mandy says that its gonna be in january, IT IS BECAUSE IT WILL BE ! Lips Sealed
The problem is that it will probably be only one concert, like in every country on the European tour (except in the UK)
and the tickets will be easilly sold out...I think i?m too old to sleep on the queue to buy it...I won?t do it again like I did on RIR III.

I want it to be, at least, at Pra?a da Apoteose !

There's no way it's going to be only one show...no major bands comes to Brazil for only one gig!!! They will play, at least, two concerts, Rio and S?o Paulo...

im pretty sure GNR have toured more in south america than in Canada.  A Canadian tour would be great for us here up in the north, i think the crowd would be pretty much the same as the ones in the US (not sure if that is a good thing or not, guess we'll have to see how the US tour goes first)
