Well, I would argue that playing new songs like "Better" and "I.R.S." are in fact acknowledgements of the album and its imminent arrival. ?

I bet even money you'd have made that same poll 4 years ago when they were playing The Blues, Maddy, and CD at shows in 02, yet we know little more now than we did then as to whether we will really be seeing an album this year. Past history with this band has shown that just playing new songs means nothing in relation to a CD release being "imminent. For that reason alone it would have been wise to let the public at large know this is really it, and they are really serious this time around.

I think the only thing worth mentioning about this is that it is kind of funny that the last GN'R song of the tour didn't have a single original member of the band. ?

Poor Dizzy....? hihi

Axl gets flushed from alot of alcohol-so do I. It is fair skin-doesn't mean he has hypertension. Sounds to me like the old bastard just ran himself in the ground. Time to go home and rest for a month. They will be alright. peace

The point is that they're playing more new songs. ?I see that as an intermediate step towards playing whatever final percentage of new songs once the album is released.

I agree completely- but Merck did come out on stage and say that's what it was. The pictures are just what anyone looks like in a club like that.

Some R&R will do him the world of good, I'm sure if it's innocuous.

What a rip off - talk about getting the short straw!

On the 29th at the arena fans get 21 songs - tonite, ha!

We got half a set then Axl disappeared - no explanation, and Seb Bach finished Nightrain and Paradise City and then - over!

Axl never even returned - we got some half baked story when the lights came on from the manager - Axl's blood sugar level was too low, but like a hero had fought on!

Ha! Seemed to be doing fine 5 mins earlier when he was tearing about!

...and any gig in which the band dont actually address the crowd...well!

Come back old GNR all is forgiven

Fusion, of course alcohol can cause hypertension, but generally not in a man Axl's age without a sinister cause.

You expect me to believe delicious living magazine? It's just a trashy lifestyle thing. Trust me, I'm a professional at this- stress does not cause pathological hypertension.

Anyway, the real issue is that we should all be wishing Axl well, and thanking the band for the fantastic tour they put together for all of us.

Well I don't know much about DLM, but the data on health issues and treatments once was contained on a website called healthwell.com.  The DLM bought them I guess and incorporated that data on their site.  Far as I can tell it's a great source for information.  So I'm not sure if you want to believe them, but how about all the references used which are quoted at the bottom of the article?

Anyways, my point is that the medical profession often thinks they know everything, when in fact they probably know a fraction of 1% of what there is to know about the human body.  So the conclusion you have reached might be conventional thinking today.  Tomorrow some study could come out that calls all of that into question.  That's all I'm saying...don't want to get too far off topic and lose another karma point.  nervous

ASS PARTY 2006 (tm)

« Reply #572 on: July 30, 2006, 09:12:04 PM »

So you want him to be all rock n' roll and just kick ass, but he can't party?

Seriously - you don't even know if last night is what caused this - hell he parties until the AM every night, what's the damn difference if he sang a bit extra last night.

I'm guessing tonight is just gonna be a whole bunch of Axl-haters whining, ain't it?

From what I understand, Axl was not feeling well, possibly even blew out his voice. It has happened to other performers and is not indicative of a larger problem with Axl's abilities today.

It is tough luck, but don't blame the artist. Apparently he was advised not to go on at all.

I'm very proud of Axl and the Gunners for doing a great job on this tour. I hope Axl is ok and that nothing serious is wrong with him.

God Speed recovery to you, Axl.

Sad what happened.

But this time Axl's got my whole sympathy. He is just human - not some invulnerable creature - for god sake. Hope he' s alright, he has done one hell of a job this summer. ?ok
