well that sucks, man...im sure it's not how he wanted to end things.

he's got over a month to rest chords though, and hopefully this incident will teach him that 3 shows in 2 days might not be a good idea (though i applaud the novelty of the accoustic set).

and hey, it happens to all lead singers now and then...he still made it thru most of the show...and as for baz...better than kid rock covering metallica songs for james hetfield!

Completely unprofessional of Axl.

He has let the whole band down.

Why were they pi$$ing about in clubs until 6 in the morning? Why is he now crying off? This will get the press coverage the tour has failed to get. Kerrang and the daily papers in the UK will love a disaster story like this one.

Why couldn't Axl just do the right thing for once?

How the hell is it unprofessional to have problems with your voice?? It happens to every singer, man.? It's just a fact of the business, not a reflection of any irresponsibility on Axl's part.

What would have been the right thing to do in your eyes?

Ali

The club gig that didn't finish until 6 in the morning? Did he need to do that? Really? Why could that not have followed tonights gig?

Dude, I agree that in RETROSPECT he shouldn't have done that, but Axl didn't have the benefit of hindsight as we do now to make that decision.  He probably thought he could take it vocally.  But, he was wrong.  We're all wrong sometimes.  That doesn't make us "unprofessional".  It makes us human.

Merck addressed fans:
Merck came on and apologised and said, Axl had high blood pressure and was unable to perform last two songs.

That doesn't sound good.

During the Pop Mart Tour, Bono blew out his voice in Vancouver, CA, half ways duing the show.  He couldn't sing anymore, period!  The Edge took over lead vocals for the rest of the night.  Hey man, it happens to everybody!

I saw Lenny Kravitz on the Are you Gonna Go My way Tour and he played about an hour, they jammed out the songs alot, Lenny said he was sick and had to  cut the show short. He was then later spotted out partying at Paisley Park with Prince till 4AM, yeah he was really sick! Shit happens, it sucks the show wasn't longer tonight but the people who seem really pissed have only themselves to blame, thinking something magical was gonna happen tonight.

Why couldn't Axl just do the right thing for once?
The right thing? He wasn't even supposed to perform tonight you tit; Yet, he almost finished the entire set with the exception of Nightrain's outro and Paradise City. So, to you the right thing for Axl to do was to risk his health?

You don't even appreciate the fact that he performed for over 90% of tonights show while being ill. Your whining disgusts me.

Not sure if anyone wants your sympathy.

For everyone bitching how disappointed they are, I would imagine Axl would be 1,000 x more.  It's a desperate shame that he has missed the opportunity to finish the final UK set, after so many amazing performances, 4 of which I was truly privileged to attend.

It really isn?t the end of the world though, the important thing is that he gets himself healthy for the US tour and beyond.  I have no doubt we are just at the beginning of what the guys have planned for us

Oh my, it's too fucking bad that what you're referring to as "self-inflicted" was a surpise acoustic gig for the fuckin' fans. ?Roll Eyes

its not the ideal ending but never the less, they did including nyc and the acoustic sets, 39 shows. ?When was the last time anyone thought GNR could pull this off with no problems. ?i think everyone is confident they will be back soon and pick up where they left off

I agree. He gave it his all and he missed the end. WE got a great tour which this time last year didnt seem even possible. We should look at the positives of this tour which there are a load. Stop acting like kids over one little incident at the very end of a great tour.It wasnt the way to end the tour. But he could have just not turned up tonight. But he did.
