A Rock N' Roll bash where everybody's smashed

« on: August 01, 2006, 09:51:42 AM »

Dizzy would have been on AFD provided he didnt break his arm or something, do you think AFD would of sounded better or worse?

personally i think it would have been worse, i love the AFD album and wouldnt have changed any of it, in the Illusions albums some of the songs would have sounded better without dizzy IMO

any thoughts?

I know he knew them because they were next door in the recording studio from eachother.. true he broke his arm, but afd is a masterpiece and is best left the way it was.. I think they wouldn't have looked as tough with a keyboard player, plus axl might had thrown softer shit in if dizzy was around

So if he was going to be a member early on do you think its true that bringing him in for UYI caused a lot of tension in the band?

Didn't the new band do a re-recording of AFD? If so and if we ever hear it, then we'll know :-) In that case, even Pitman would be on it, hehe.

having Dizzy on AFD would make those songs sound like shit, the same way the songs on UYI suffered with Dizzy's work.  Except for "Estranged", "So Fine", and "November Rain", and maybe one other, the songs on UYI didn't need keyboards, and the keyboards sounded way out of place on the rest of them.

yeah...i dunno i just watched the vids about a month ago...pretty sure he said it...look in the uyi book it'll say for sure if he played on anything...I'd look but i don't have them handy

oh wait i just checked the main site he plays piano or organ on Dust N Bones, LaLD, DC (orig), Perfect Crime, Bad Obsession, Don't Damn Me, Bad Apples, Civil War, 14 Years, Yesterdays, GITR, Pretty Tied Up & Locomotive so 13 of 30 tracks (weird he doesn't get credit for DC alt but he does for DC orig Undecided )

And background vocals on Garden of eden & November Rain i think he said in the NR making of not DC that he didn't join the band in time to be on the NR studio track peace

also he doesn't get a single songwriting credit no
