I agree. I prefer 1991's style and but things have to change, I really like GN'R's style as it is currently anyway.

For an artist, to play the same way you did 15 years ago is not gratifying. You have to evolve ang do something new, that is what keeps it fresh, creative & exciting. You are not an artist, only an entertainer if you just go out and do the same thing the same way over & over.

i tend to disagree with you there you have a fair point, but like slash now in VR as an example he is still coming up with great string switchin riffs for the band and still carrying his own style that hasnt evolved that much since the GNR days

iron maiden is another example ok

Is it not just due to the fact they have more guitarists now?

Even if it would be the old line-up playing, the style would be different from AFD-era or UYI-tour. So no, it doesn't bother me at all.

I like the way the current guitarists use chord fragments for melodic pieces

i dont think the style would have changed to this extent, maybe in diffrent directions sort of, but the guitarists playing would have remained sorta the same as AFD era i think

i am diggin it, but just a thought like

It's absolutely normal: they are not Slash, and they are not trying to copy Slash... they are capable musicians and they are playing their own style. It's the right thing to do, because they are not a tribute band, but a true band.

I'm absolutely happy.

i wasnt talking FINCK bbf ETC, just as a band that was known for SCOM and WTTJ in the earlier days now being more like a chord based band than the past

it sounds much better now, using powerchords.
very loud and raw power, truly rock. slash had a more bluesy approach, wich sounds good too, but how guns sound now ... just wow!

For me, as long as Axl sounds like Axl there could be a rap beat in the background.

I agree to the fact that since the band is a new line up even though during this tour they played a more heavy AFD set, (which I truly belive was for the casual fan benifit, and fans of GNR on awhole). The players (RICHARD, RON, FINCK TOMMY) need to be able to express themselves, in thier stlye, and keep true to the basics of the song structure, whcih they did a phenomila job, as for wat you sescribe which is basically only petainig to slash, well ......thsi isnt slash playng anymore in GNR, and as sme one said if the guitar players were to jsut play note  for note, it would inded be a cover , they kept the structure yet embelsished to each own stle the guitar parts as they play, without losing the integrity of the tunes, yet adding somethng new .

At this point, as long as Axl is on stage performing he could have Hanson behind him and I wouldn't care.  I prefer the bluesy style from the original GNR albums, but I won't lose too much sleep over it.

i know slash isnt in the band, and i have accepted that, this isnt about slash bs finck or slash vs ron

its just about their styles of music as a GNR whole!!
