"Hip-Hop dominated music world"

maybe it's true in USA, but USA is not the world.

cool tour resume anyway.

The tour was awesome.  Ive been following the board since earlier 2004 before BH quit, I became a member last August, it was very rewarding getting in the pre pre sale for the Hammerstein shows.  It is a better time when GNR is touring.  I cant wait for the US tour, I think this Euro Tour was a huge success, GNR is back !

6/10 - an accomplishment that is was finished and all shows were completed. Some good performances by the sound of it and Axl was out and about alot, generating publicity. Other positives is the fact that he looks nowhere near as weird as he di in 02. I know it is the music that matters, but it is true and good to see him looking more like the rockstar he undoubtedly is

The constant lateness is inexcusable. I know some of yoiu hark back to dangerous/riot causing Axl of the late 80's early 90s as some kind of justification. The fact of the metter is that the British media for the most part, focused solely on this and not the music. Q magazine ( the biggest music mag in Europe) summed it up in their last issue by inferring that you would think Axl would need to win people over for his impending album release - instead, he is alienating and subjecting himself to un-needed ridicule. I know the average diehard on this board is not concerned with this, but it is not the diehard that Axl is going to have to win over for this album to be a success, its the average music buying punter.

The solos and drawn out jam sessions also must go. A tight, consise set is what is required. For the life of me, I cant understand how Axl could not see this especially having pulled this on UYI tour. If he needs a rest, get Tommy to sing a number. Guitar wankery and meandering, tedious jams are just the worst thing possible at a rock concert.

Please, address these things before the next leg.

I have been reading this forumn , and I am alittle ashamed , first of all , how many of you were original fans in the mid eighties , i know i was one , and to see not a single original member on stage tonight to finish the show is absoloutly depressing at best.nor was there any announcement of cd coming out .

I am not trying to bash any oneperson here don't get me wrong ,but each one ofyou got douped on this tour . axl was late 35 out of 3o something shows, not to mention the nastalgia sounding set lists , the over played solos , so axl could hit up the 02

so what if he had high blood pressure , he could have finished and stayed on stage while baz finished

dont fool your selves , The axl rose touring band is just a circus act, prove me wrong other wise

I'm not going to count tonight's unfortunate happenings, the tour was an overwhelming success. No riots, no cancellations, etc. And Axl even remained calm and turned some bad situations into great shows (Download, Rio). The band has definitely benefited from all of these shows, obviously becoming better players and being a much more cohesive group of guys. The chemistry between these guys is off the chart. I'm just glad that they've finally been able to prove to the world that they can complete a tour without starting any riots or cancelling any shows, playing their asses off all the while. On to the US...

GnR (or rather, Axl) limped over the finishing line - but they still crossed it.

After the years of crap, its good to have seen a tour that was, to be fair, pretty damn good.  The lateness cannot be excused, but even when late, the shows are still kick ass.

Agreed that the soloing is a bit much.  GnR have enough songs in their back catalogue to fill out a set without needing to resort to the soloing and jamming.

That said, I'd rather have a late, soloing, jamming GnR than web rumours and suggestions that Axl has been seen at this or that nightclub.  They are making their living as a band now, and lng may that continue,

PS, Axl get well soon.

9/10

the only thing that would have made this more interesting for me is more new material.   Axl and all the guys in the band were amazing.   Release the album and play a few more new tunes, easily a 10/10.

So tonight the European tour came to an end.

I've followed the new band for about 6 years now, through cancelled tours in Europe, bad press and lots of shit, so tonight marks the end of a triumphant chapter for Guns n' Roses. The most successful tour for 13 years, a band coming together on tour, and the promise of lots more still to come.

So I'd like to start this thread- for us to share great memories, but also for more general discussion of the tour. What have we learnt? What's changed?

We've got to know this band a lot more, I feel. The guys are not just characters I watch on an old Rio DVD, but living, breathing embodiments of Rock n' Roll. They've embraced the fans and we've taken them so much more to heart too, and got to know a little of them as personalities, just as we did the old guys. They seem so much more real, now. A band I can imagine sitting round, and writing and recording an album together, in a way I couldn't before. How do the rest of you feel.

hey! I remember you from the old days! long time no see.
nice ta see you still hanging around!

Axl's voice was back in good form. Robins playing and image were better. Axl couldn't find a guitar player that was as good as Bucket, so he hired a guy who plays a foot guitar, and who answers fan e-mails. The band played a lot of boring instrumentals while Axl rested his voice. They added a few new songs to the setlist. No update or release date were given for the album. If this tour was designed to get Axl's voice back in game shape for the US Chinese Democracy tour, then it was very successful.

Overall, I have to say that the fact that a tour was completed while hope of future dates remains intact is a
great sign....Let's just keep pushing forward from here.
