I've been noticing quite a few photographs posted from the recent tour are either overexposed or have other flaws that can be corrected.

Post pics here that you feel need saving and I'll see what I can do.

Wow. You've done awesome job with those.. From Helsinki there aren't many pics so maybe you could try to make something to the few, I uploaded most of them into yousendit ( http://www.yousendit.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=A75C670518FE9DF6 ) and here are some:

Thanks in advance!

i prefer the first one

The thing is, that Axl/Izzy pic was taken with a low resolution camera, so of course the second pic is going to expose the unwanted pixilation.

But a higher resolution pic like the first one in this thread will generally yield better results.

Those shots are already of good quality, I can sharpen the image slightly but I don't think you'd notice much of a difference.

Sorry, but if you ask me over correcting the photo by overly increasing the contrast, brightness, and using a sharpen filter just makes them look shittier. Take a photoshop class! haha... I'll take the originals.

i dont use sharpening...

i use a varyation of curves (sometimes brightness and contrast) but i find curves makes the process easier. i then remove certain RGB colours or enhance them depending on what the photograph is lacking. Then sometimes I use layering techniques such as the multiplying, overlay, screen etc, depending on what i think the photograph needs. Fuck the "Auto..." correction bollocks.

If i was restoring an old photograph, id use ashit load of other techniques, but as the majority of these appeared dull in the first place, i did what i thought was needed.

at the end of the day, its down to each users own style, personal preference etc. I clearly dont need to take a photoshop class, so if i were you I'd fuck off and not (poorly) attempt to make yourself appear superior by bullshitting to other members. If you've got nothign constructive to suggest, then fuck off... you dont have to take the rehashed ones ive created.

Got something to prove, then post away. Im not doubting your talent, but to critisize someone with out backing it up is pretty lame and chicken thing to do.

Photoshop's auto levels option can sometimes improve digital photos. Sometimes it can fuck'em up.
Another good Photoshop option is using the variation's option. It is possible to add more red, blue, green etc as some digital camera's can make pictures look either too red, green or blue. My Sony Cyber-Shot has a habit of making photo's look too red.
