so any more news on this supposed 3am gig coz if it's happening, it'll be in 20 minutes

25? Kiss

Do we even know where it's going to be if it happens?
No idea where it is Mandy or how the lottery people were selected. Sad

Just back from the show, perhaps I can shed a little light on the lottery selection.? Axl announces from the stage that they are playing two shows tonight, this one and another acoustic set in a club at 3 am.? He said that people had been selected at random from their ticket purchases.? He read out about 10 names from a list he had and then a little later about another 10 names.? These people (plus whoever else they'd booked tickets for, I think) were to go and get a wristband to get them into the club.? The final name he read out, at the end of the show, was for an all expenses paid trip to see the band in September in California.? At least that's the way it sounded to me.

Was a truly great show, by the way.? ok

that is cool as hell.

maybe jarmo won the all expense paid trip Cool

Glad to see Axl had something on his sleeve after all.

An acoustic gig, w/ Izzy? Would be so cool to get a recording.

Not unless he's going under an alias these days - the name read out sounded like it was of Greek origin to me.

They won't play Catcher

It's not gonna be on CD and it's from sessions years old.

Axl said during the Trunk interview that it would be on the album and Fortus said in an e-mail that he was looking forward to playing the song live.

It's stretching my memory a bit but I think the surname began with the letter P.  Axl had difficulty pronouncing some of the names.   Grin

It was a nice gesture but unfortunately because the show ran past the times that the tubes stopped running, I know that some people left before the end.  Don't know if it was any of those people whose names had been were read out.  Also, selection like this doesn't differentiate between casual observers and fans who've supported the band through thick and thin - but then I guess that's what a lottery is all about, just being lucky.

It's entirely possible that not even 1 die-hard fan is at this 3AM show.  That's basically what happened when they did the acoustic gig in NYC a few months ago.

This would be tragic.
