Pure was an educated guesser and got lucky on a few things. He would also post news quickly and make it look like he got the scoop (I remember him trying that on the tour dates for the second leg of the 2002, only he got beat and looked foolish).
By the time the 2002 tour came to a halt, if I recall, he'd been relegated to his own forum due to being banned on a lot of others.

Lets have this as an example: Even if it turns out to be true, "PURE" is playing the odds.
We've already heard the rumor that something will be announced this Sunday. Why? Someone claims a roadie said so. Since it's the last show thus far, it's a pretty good gamble to bet this. If nothing is announced, the poster can always say "well they were going to announce something at the show but plans were changed."
Now to the second half... "PURE" has taken a popular date for CD releases, the first Tuesday in November, and fed it into his rumor. If it turns out to be true - and there is a chance - he comes off smelling like roses. And see how nicely it fits - November is the big month for CDs to take advantage of Xmas shoppers, and the first Tuesday is a big date for albums to drop.
It's kind of a no-lose situation, either he's lucky and he's right, or he's not but he can make excuses. Add in some dramatic flair and presto! More pointless rumor posts.
