Richard Fortus deserves to be on this record. That guy is an amazing musician of many instruments. You will all be happy when you hear his contributions to CD.

It seems to me that axl has a vision of a 3 guitar band. hmmmm
There are already 2 guitars + 2 keyboards... that's way enough. A 3rd guitar player who would play a couple of solos there and then, and sleep during half of the shows would be useless.

I still hope for Buckethead
I watched WTTJ at RIR3, he was so amazing... It seems so easy to play guitar when you watch him playing.

But you dont know fuck all about the new material and how much guitar is featured on each track. It's easy to sit back and assume stuff but you dont know any facts , so whats the point? It would SEEM that theres a good chance they wanna add a third guitar player again based on Fortus comments.
Oh no Nesquick , what if that freak Buckethead comes back?!

Despite all the rumors about CD, Richard said he hoped to be in the GNR camp at the end of the year, so saying he was going to do some work on CD about two weeks ago, does that qualify as being in the gnr camp at the end of the year? and if so then we have some reason to believe what this guy is saying. I was getting under the impression that he was just becoming the new voice telling the same story.

Why did you make a whole thread about this?
Why didn't you just write this in the "Emails from Richard Fortus" thread?

You make a valid point. Richard does seem to be giving real tidbits of info these past few months. I'd rather hear Richard's comments than Tommy and Dizzy's "CD is the best album ever and its coming out next month" comments. I prefer realism over fantasy any day.

was there even a proof of richard saying that he`ll be recording guitar parts with axl? i guess it`s a little off topic, but i ask because of slash`s radio interview and the people here not believing it`s for real...(before the audio file was made available)
i`m not saying noone here believed it was for real, but people were doubting it......

Richard did go back to the studio and record for GnR in December. I'm sure Mysteron can get this confirmed if people really doubt it.

Realism over fantasy? All 3 guys are in the same fucking band right, so how the hell does Dick Fortus know more than Tommy for example? I just think Richard at least half-asses his fan responses while Tommy and Dizzy just reuse the same garbage forever.

Do you hear Richard saying its mindblowing, earth shattering, 99% done, a hairs breadth away, etc.? I never said Richard knows more than the other guys. He just approaches his answers with a little more honesty.

A little more honesty? Besides the Nena tour and his guitars, what the fuck has Richard been more honest about than the other band members? His answers revolve around the same level of uncertainty just as Tommy's do, and Dizzy's.
"Tommy when is CD droppin'?" I dont know
"Dizzy when is CD comin'?" Soon hopefully...
"Richard when is CD gunna be out?" '06 hopfully...
Yeah, the possession of knowledge and honesty heavily differs amongst the members...

Sorry if this belongs in a different thread.. but I think its a valid point.
Someone said that Axl has a 3 guitarist band in his vision.. and well.. maybe
part
(not all.. so please.. dont be like "thats dumb!") of the delay is the lack of a good 3rd guitarist. I remember when RIR4 was cancelled cuz bucket left, and everyone was like "Bullshit Axl had 2 months to replace him. The old guns did it. why not now?"... well the old guns had an album out that everyone could listen and practice with before hand... the new guns probably would have to bring in a BRAND new guitarist.. who had NEVER heard the new material and have him either..
a) Learn the wholeeeeeeeee album and how to play it as good as buckethead (hard as shit)
or
b) Or remake the parts... but still have them hold up to axl's standards.. meaning that they had to be AT LEAST as good as the old stuff
So... maybe Axl was serious in that it wasn't plausable to replace Buckethead in 2..3..4 months. I seriously hope that Bucket and Axl reach some kind of agreement... but i seriously doubt it. Heres to the 3rd guitarist being a great talent.
