Hi Dennis,
well since my last email, Swan Lee have broken up.? I spoke to Pernille
a little while ago. She is excited about her new band though.? I'm sure
it will be great.? She sent me the live DVD from Swan Lee.? Perhaps her
new band will open for Gn'R when we play Denmark!
Hope to be there in '06.
thanks,
richard

Yeah Swan Lee is Danish...

Here is the story...

Hi Dennis,
Pernille and Jonas have been friends of mine for quite a while.  I
played with them in New York about 6 years ago.  I've known Pernille
since about '93.  She is one of the most special people i've ever
known.  Are you a fan of theirs?

Hi Vasco,
thanks for writing. Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. Chinese
Democracy will be out in '06.
Hopefully, early in the year. The
line-up is the same (minus Buckethead). Hope to see you very soon,
richard

I haven't ever seen Richard writes Chinese Democracy will be out in '06.
He hoped so, then he said it should be so and now he says it will be out in 06.

Clearly It's moving forward. ok

Hahahah how many times do you think Richard has been asked "When will Chinese Democracy be released?"?  Also how many people have asked him "what is it like to work with Axl?"?

While I think its great that Richard seems to be answering every email in his inbox, I gotta say at some point he will just delete the repetitive ones.  Part of my work this past summer was with some cable news show hosts and some of it dealt with fan emails.  When you get hundreds or even thousands of emails each day it gets real easy to delete the repetitive ones.  In fact it is encouraged.

Not saying that Richard will do this, but I think as more of us 'fans' realize he takes the time to answer them then he will be getting more and more emails.

And why do we believe him now?  What makes his statements now mean any more than any of the previous statements by bandmates that have all (every one of them) been proven to be completely wrong?  Please don't tell me these phantom greatest hit albums are what makes you all so confident.  I see no real reason for more hope now than at any other time in the past.

Well, thats your opinion and i respect it!
And, i am very optimistic about this.. Coz the timeframe actualy have been
very little the last year. We know early this year, that the talks was about
a late 05 release, and it has only moved to an early 06 release, and the
talk from the members, Dizzy, Tommy and Fortus, says that its right around
the corner. Mercks silence, Tommys mention in the newspage on his website
and also all the rumbeling we have heard lately! I see no reason for me to
be pessimistic! And dident someone hinting for a late November announcment?
could happen this week ok

I like A minor more so than C major

« Reply #135 on: November 29, 2005, 11:17:49 PM »

Finally, my response to Richard! I really think I got the best answer from him (not braggin , i could care less, but i did get a great response)

Hey Rich, thanks for the great response!

I was in a band called Simulcast, we were this mix of rock and
electronica/dance/industrial. Much better suited for Europe...we signed with
an entertainment attorney, ron bienstock...ever hear of him? he used to
write an article in Guitar Magazine, he's somewhat "big" in the business. So
he was shopping us out in Europe, there was some interest, but no guarantee
and I just couldn't risk any more time trying to make it. WHo knows what
kind of guarantee i wanted, there are no guarantee's in life! Me n my
girlfriend were going out for like 8 yrs at that point, i wasnt working b/c
i wanted to devote EVERY minute to "making it"...i dont know, it was just
time to move on.... Kinda sad, but I had to move into the "real world". I
still play out once in awhile though, and I dj...I'm only 29!!!!! LOL

hey, wanted to say I dig that solo you were doing during the first Nightrain
solo. Cool "major" feel to it. Im telling you Rich, you have a great
tone...I know we're always searching for that elusive magical tone, but
your's is cool. Between us (lol), Robin is like.......ummm.....not that
good. I mean, he has a cool look, i actually like his look. But....he makes
so many mistakes and flubs alot. He should play mostly rhythm, you should
take lead, and let that be it. What is the plan anyway with the guitarist
situation? I guess Axl makes it kinda impossible to forsee the future. Has
he given you guys any kind of update recently?

By the way, I always jam along to Madagascar. Are you guys tuned down a half
step at A or Bb?

One last thing, you rocked the November Rain solo....i think you took the
first one, right? totally cool. Bending that G to an A and having it at
perfect pitch is crucial right there at the intro to that solo.......what do
u think of slash anyway? ever meet him? i know you're in a weird situation
and all....how are u dealing with all of this? 2002 was probably crazy for
you??

sorry, one last thing again...lol. Do you switch between a clean and
distorted sound when live, or just clean up using the guitar volume knobs?
if you do make switches for different sections of songs, are u clicking that
on-stage, or is someone controlling it back-stage? i always found it easier
to clean up using the guitar volume knob, unless i needed like a really,
really JC- type clean sound.

sorry for rambling....

- Greg
