Axl really needs to stop being late.

With the new band trying to get acceptance, coming on an hour and 20 minutes late is gonna make it even harder for fans to accept the new band.

I hope Axl doesnt pull this in the states or he is gonna be playin to half empty arenas again.

I know u guys bashed Bon Jovi for sayin what they said about Axl, but honestly..... wasnt it the truth?

question: Sebastian Bach, a throwback to the late 80s hair scene. Why? He is not that well known, and he is certainly not that highly thought of widely

Axl doing a favour for a friend? That was my understanding of it anyway... Doesn't Bach have an album coming out soon as well? Or something like that?  Undecided

thats all good and well for a gig or tow, but Axl is trying to launch a major comeback here is he not? Not the time for favours for old buddies

Axl should be alligning himeself with young hotshots and/or vintage, classic stars of his ilk
not late 80's also-rans who most people have long forgotten

The Supergroup show put Bach back in some people's minds. Hes as popular as he is going to be at this point. Not sure if he'd be the big draw for GNR.

can we stop the ron replacement rumours/crackpot theories please? i know its all maybe harmless fun, but christ things get blown incredibly out of proportion in the gnr universe amazingly quickly.

it does look like a bad start, but i bet whoever was there had a wonderful time (bar reviewers). it is a shame the UKs curfew system is such that it goes against basically everything rock n roll (and by default gnr) stands for. and it would be nice for them to be able to take the law into their own hands, but obviously its just not feasible. and of course there is the matter that axl should be on time, well, i gotta call bullshit on that. the UK laws are far too strict and cause far too much upset. its just another problem with the granny state of which the UK is living through these days. (i know other countries have similar laws, but the UK, and irish, laws affect me directly which is why i get so pissed off at them).

couldnt agree more - Axl needs to wake up and smell the coffee

back in the day he could pull this hit, now is a different story - he needs to win people over again

question: Sebastian Bach, a throwback to the late 80s hair scene. Why? He is not that well known, and he is certainly not that highly thought of widely

Didnt Skid Row have number 1 hits back in the day?

I think it's funny how Ron may have had an off night, or he was in a mood and the people in this board are already thinking he is going to leave.

You guys really need to chill out and try and enjoy this. ?Who knows if we will ever get to see this again, lets not waste the time bitching about set lists, Axl being late, Axl's voice, Axl's choice of clothing etc. . . . ?The ironic part about this is that most of the people bitching about the GNR experience arn't even going to the shows Huh?

The dead horse topics seem to ruin almost every thread - I can't wait for the Axl's voice arguments again - it's been at least 3 days. . . . ?Lips Sealed

Think of what we have seen in the past 6 months:

-4 leaks
-4 great warmup shows
-a solid start to a world tour
-a fun and energetic Axl
-Guests - Baz, Izzy, Kid Rock

There really is no reason to complain in my humble opinion. . .

Anyway - off my high horse

GNR 2006!!! peace

Maybe they didn't play the new songs cuz they need Ron's solo's.  They only played the Blues which features a lead solo by Robin.  Maybe Ron is leaving......

Yeah I reckon. Only with this band would people worry that a guy is leaving the band because he frowned on stage. Big deal, he played the whole fucking show all the same.

Or maybe he wasn't feeling very good today and couldn't give his 100% on this gig! Just because he wasn't "good" today doesn't mean he's leaving...

just got home from sheffield and what can i say.Axls fukin voice is top fricken notch.although he was a little high in the mix,he sounded 100% spot on.the show seemed to go by fast and after each song finished another soon started.only 1 new song (the blues) in the setlist and there i was wishin for more new songs.is this the plan axl has had all along, maybe play the shit outta the old songs until poeple start to wish for new songs in the setlist, maybe.

overall - a top show, band sounded good, axl sounded good, came on at a decent time, izzy played, weather was nice etc etc  hihi

ive got some shitty pics that ill upload 2moz,drunk and tired now Grin

I dont recall BH "going to work sick". He has been hired to play a very specific role. Either do it, or stay off the fucking stage. Its bad enough he has trouble with the material. Now he's not even doing it? nervous Gimme a fucking break.

What a lame setlist. Too bad the band hadn't learned alot more old songs. This turn of events would have been the perfect time to play a few UYI gems in place of the new songs. If BBF stays in the band, Axl should be prepared for when something like this occurs again.

Thanks anythinggoes(and the others) for the updates and reviews. Even though this setlist isn't my cup of tea, at least you guys had a good time. peace beer smoking
