It is bullshi$ to say that Guns will have a 10 oclock curfew.

My Girlfriends sister went to watch Boyzone and Ronan Keating there and they didn't go off till almost 11.

I would guess GNR will go on at around 9 and play till almost 11.

Nobody said 10pm. Virtually every venue in the country is 11pm, except Sundays which ~can~ be as early as 10:30.

The whole "Ron not looking happy" thing could be because of a lot of different reasons.  My guess is that he could have been pissed becase of technical issues with the sound.

Yeah, they didn't play a lot of new songs, but Izzy was there, and that's pretty cool I think.

80 minutes late and a loss of 5 or six songs? Very disappointing. I don't think we'll get any reasons for this and obviously someone has told the band they can't go on past 11pm or the plug will be pulled.

If you went to a sporting occassion would you tolerate it being this late? I doubt it. I've gotta catch the last bus from Newcastle out into the suburbs at 1130pm tomorrow night and if the band choose to be that late it's inconsiderate for all the fans who have to travel back.

Why do we do it eh? Something to do with loving music and our favourite bands I guess  beer

My god iam getting tired of this "new songs" crying..

This aint all about just satisf. a bunch of kids that wants to hear new songs from a unrealesed album. Remeber we already have 30% of the new album.
This is about being smart, its about getting good rewievs in the english news papers that they play all the old hit songs.. Most people wants to hear the old songs cause they dont know any new songs.

Axl really needs to stop being late.

With the new band trying to get acceptance, coming on an hour and 20 minutes late is gonna make it even harder for fans to accept the new band.

I hope Axl doesnt pull this in the states or he is gonna be playin to half empty arenas again.

I know u guys bashed Bon Jovi for sayin what they said about Axl, but honestly..... wasnt it the truth?

You're on a GNR discussion board. Roll Eyes

You're gonna have different opinions. ?If they are gonna release CD, then they need to start plugging the new songs.

Ok dont want to start a rumour but ron really did not look happy i dont know why he didnt do his usual solo he seemed to hide away in the dark not his usual jolly self plus durin patience axl put his arms on his shoulders but got no response from him so axl shrugs his shoulders and walks off. For me it was a disapointing show the bootleg is better than greece but i need better mics me thinks ?

I hope this is only a rumor. ?nervous

Judging from Ron's emails, he seems like a guy that would be hard to piss off. ?Hopefully, it is only due to the technical issues.

The whole Ron being upset situation seems simple.  He's pissed about going on late and the "technical difficulties".

I've been to probably 100 concerts, and I've never seen a band have "technical difficulties" like GNR.?

I also think this was why Tommy was pissed at Donnington.

They play completely different things.  I also don't think that izzy would join full time.

Im just saying ... it wouldnt be hard for izzy to step right in.? I hope thats not the case however, i like ron i think he's great for the band and has a cool stage presence

i cant remember which song, but on the 15th at hammerstein, ron was crouching down while playing looked up at the fans and threw his guitar pick at them, then reached in his pocket and got another one.  i mean i dont know if anyone else noticed that but its those kinds of things that are cool about him

weird setlist... i guess the timing had something to do with it yea...
i have a setlist question though...
in norway show #1 they played every song they have picked out for this tour (twat not considered)...
with CD, the blues, irs, better, madagascar...

have they done that any other shows?

yes, I seem to remember hearing all those songs (not twat) on May 15th.

well, I hope we get to hear You Gotta Move from this show!

Be very careful saying that.... you dont want to start another one of those topics.

I think you people need to fucking realize this is Guns N Roses you have heard it a million time and I will say this again. Axl is always late!!!!!!! Its his thing, so why change it? From the looks of the setlist it looks like the fans had one hell of a show. I dont feel sorry for those in attendance they still had a kick ass set, and got to see a kick ass band. The only people who are going to complain are the few people on the boards who have already seen the bootlegs of other shows, or seen the other show playlists. Majority of the people at the show probably have no clue what Better, IRS, or Madagascar really is. So they more than likly enjoyed themsleves the sad thing is we will never know because they are the ones who dont frequent the boards.

« Reply #237 on: July 18, 2006, 08:18:10 PM »

At first I was kinda bummed at the lack of new songs but then I imagined being there and I'm sure the people got their money's worth.? I mean Axl could have stormed off after the tech difficulties (my new favorite song BTW? hihi) or not shown up at all.? So let's look forward to tomorrow's show and see what happens.

couldnt agree more - Axl needs to wake up and smell the coffee

back in the day he could pull this hit, now is a different story - he needs to win people over again

question: Sebastian Bach, a throwback to the late 80s hair scene. Why? He is not that well known, and he is certainly not that highly thought of widely
