I want to hear more from Illusion!!

i highly doubt they would play estranged without slash because of what it means to axl and all that stuff soeone already ndiscussed in this thread.

Don't agree personally. I think Estranged will make it's way back at some point. Untill I hear Axl Rose say himself that he could'nt play that tune without Slash, I'm not buying this.

I just don't believe that they would play Locomotive, Coma or Civil War without Slash. Look at the credits, read some interviews. Especially Coma, it's totally Slash's tune. Estranged would be possible, but even old band had troubles playing it live so.. I don't know. If they'll do it some day, I hope Fortus is going to do Slash's parts. 14 Years with Izzy would be awesome though

It's a good point. I do not believe that songs not being played are due to some connection to Slash that Axl can't get past. I think Axl's shown a desire to be independent, would'nt you say?

But IMO it's not just about Axl. Think about Finck and Brain playing DTJ.. could they get it so energetic and emotional as Slash and Matt did? This was just one example, but I think that many of the old tunes needs the old guys. Ofcourse not all of them, but some do. I don't mean that new guys aren't good enough, but maybe they're not just interested playing some of the UYI-songs 'cause they just can't get the right feeling for them or something. I don't believe that Axl could just say "let's play Coma tomorrow" and they would do it just because Axl wants it. I might be alone with these opinions, but I don't care.

And Estranged is very hard to play (at least for the old band) so I think that's one of the reasons for not playing it now.

Actually I think that they sat down at some point and decided that it would Appetite stuff dominantly, a couple of Illusion and some new ones. I understand them not changing it up for the Summer tour. But, where I dis-agree with most people here is in the Fall tour, people saying they could'nt pull off the old songs because of lack of emotion, or a loyalty by Axl to Slash or something, it's boo-cacka! These guys coud and would attempt to play anything, if given the chance. We'll see.

Playing more old songs is not the direction the band should be going.

Play a handful of classics and leave the rest open for new material.
