That's exactly the way i feel about the impending release of this album; and i won't get xcited, upset, or pissed about it because I will see it when i see it....

HMV is notorious for jumping the gun but I do think they will try to sneak the album into stores without a lot of notice to avoid bootlegging.  I'm sure they'll start promoting the album about a week before its release and after that, but this is an album that doesn't need promotion to sell in the first week.  The media will promote the album once they discover it's being released and the hype surrounding it, the album will sell itself at least in the first week.  This album won't be marketed using conventional strategies that much is obvious

If by bootlegging you mean downloading, it wont matter. Most albums leak when they go to manufacture, leaked by plant workers etc. So they might as well promote it regardless. If it's a good album it'll sell, if it's not it won't, that's all there is to it.

Every album gets bootlegged, but sometimes they're able to cut down the window.  If the send it to be pressed in low key fashion they might be able to keep it from getting leaked until a week or so before the release date.  Some albums get leaked two months before they come out, others they manage to keep under wraps until a week or two before the release date.  I'm sure GnR will do everything they can to make sure the latter happens.  But no matter what they'll have a huge first week so they don't need to heavily promote the album at first, only after the release
