I think that the album won't be out until November or December, unfortunately.
I think that there is work to be done on the album, at least as far as the tracklist, mastering, perhaps some mixing.? I hope there is no more recording left to be done
I think/hope these issues will be addressed in August when the band returns from Europe.? I guess we'll see.? Hopefully that update of the website Richard Fortus mentioned in an e-mail will contain information on the album.
We can only pray?
Ali
The tracklisting and mastering not being completed is not much of a big deal. You can figue out the tracklisting in a day. Mastering takes 1 or 2 days.
If there is still mixing to be done, then that'll take some time.
I'm sure they are past the mixing stage.

Its already mid July. No way in hell is the album coming out in September. Maybe if there's an announcement tomorrow.

You can trust us Canadians. I think the album pretty much has to come out in September. We know Axl is playing LA in September and that he's going to start a North American tour. The album has to be out before he embarks on the North Amercian tour or thing will go tits up.

HMV??? what is?
His Masters Voice - a very old and very big chain of record, video etc. stores in Europe. I think they have a labe, but I'm not sure.

Nobody knows anything until management announces it.? We've been down this road with noname companies advertising CD.
HMV are not a no-name company. They're one of the largest entertainment vendors in Europe.
Sorry to say - US will be the forum for the official announcement.

This is the what, fifth or sixth time HMV has posted bogus release dates?
I remember like 2 weeks about HMV.co.uk had a date posted that Merck confirmed as bullshit. Should we just not bother with HMV anymore?

I think it would not bode well for any USA tour if they dont have at least an announcement and single out by
Inland Invasion
--which i assumed was/is the kickoff for promotion of the tour and new material....Europe has gone surprisingly well without anything new really, but thats largely because most of these countries hadnt had a glimpse of uncle axl in over a decade. alot of the states folks will be waay more fickle.

is september fall in the US? I thought it was
september would be a good month - enough time for reviews (hopefully positive) to catch on and set up a buzz for Xmas market.
but.. if all that is remaining is track selection, well that could take more than a couple of months surely? we're talking about an insane perfectionist here.
Throw in mastering ( this could be complete surely?) and youve still got quite a wait right there

i can't understand why people are still discussing bull shit like this, i mean the release date of CD is a hot topic, but what the fuck makes you think that hmv in fucking CANADA knows anything more than anyone else, it's the same shit all over again, how many times haven't we had this shit from different sites, amazon even had it as a pre-order option for gods sake and what happened, no CD??? as if CD actually had a release date set and gn'r wanted to keep it a secret, just to sell les records lol
and don't talk about preventing the album from being leaked, as soon as the actual cd's are pressed it's going to leak no matter what, and people here will be the first to know about it...
i do believe tho that 06 is the year for CD and late fall early christmas could be a smart time to let it go because of christmas sales etc, don't trust a record store, trust the management and it's press releases which you'll find in the news section on this very site. That said, after being here a few years it wouldn't surprice me if cd didn't drop in 06...

Fall "officially" begins Sept. 22nd. But Labor Day (First Monday in September, Sept. 4th this year) is the unofficial end of Summer and beginning of Fall in the States.
Sept. 19th is my birthday....that would be a nice present

I can't imagine that is the CD the album......however, maybe it is CD the single. You have to think this would be an ideal time to drop the first single just a few weeks before the US leg of the tour.
Saying that.....I hope to god it CD isn't the first single.

The reason this is a little more interesting is because albums come out at the same time in US/Canada, whereas Europe they're sometimes delayed. 19th is a Tuesday so it's possible. And it's close enough to "Fall" as to still fit into what the band/Axl have been saying. Plus the Cali concert...
I'd mark this one as only a little more likely than the usual release date rumors. Like 1% better but still who knows.

If they do drop a single before the show in CA, it can't be somthing they've been playing even though Better and TWAT are awesome, it has to be something we haven't heard and it has to be released under studio quality sound not demo or live. But if they are planning to tour in the US in the fall into winter, when has a album ever been released during a tour? Would that make sense to do?

Most bands drop albums either before or very soon after the start of a tour. That said, "most bands" doesn't apply here.

they did release use your illusion well after the start of the world tour in 91 so it wouldn't be that surprising.
but i think we should just wait an afficial press release and stop looking for release dates in different stores around the globe
