I'd rather them do something lesser known, like "Live and Let Die" was at that time. The comparisons to the Doors would be too much, I think.  smoking

would be interesting to hear it but if gnr was to cover a doors song they would be more suited to play something like "l.a woman" or "peace frogs" i believe

Tonight.

I'd be down for that, but at the same time, only as a B-side or something. We've waited too long to have covers.

I would love it if they replaced LALD with Light My Fire. I'll take The Doors over McCartney or The Beatles any day. Axl sort of embodies the persona of the bad ass rock star that Jim Morrison created.

I think IRONMAN would be an awesome cover for GNR to do.

the reason this thread is up is because they played it tonight,
just looking for thoughts on this song

I'd like to see them cover any Doors song. Morrison was not afraid to express himself, much like Axl.

( I'd like to see them cover Peace Frogs also.  Billy Idol already did LA Woman.)

Yeah but it has keyboards and a guitar solo so its perfect for GNR to cover. Has everything to keep the band happy

plenty of the doors music has those two elements (keyboards & guitar solos) but as previously mentioned light my fire" ?it's been covered hundreds of times. ?and i agree with eraser, "when the musics over" would be an awesome choice, i can see it as an interlude towards the end of the set, maybe even a intro to Pardise City. ?
? ?
also think "alabama Song" (Whisky Bar) would be fitting right before Nightrain! That would be some cool shit beer
