The asshole song (as it was in 2002) goes "you are an asshole and everyone knows it, how much of an asshole nobody can say..." (and then axl would stop and go something like "oops, wrong song" and start NR. Haven't found it on youtube, but I'm sharing lots of that stuff in the hub

The moe i think about this show the greater it gets.... I mean, as a friend said during the show, Axl and the band were "in the hotdamn BULLSEYE all fuckin' evening."
They're that tight and Axl vocally OUT OF THE BALLPARK great.
Fuck yeah... that show was amazing.

alright, it's been 2 days and i'm finally starting to get back on the ground so to speak, because MAN WAS THIS SHOW A BLAST!! i got to oslo with my sister, who's also a big gnr fan (we must have good genes) around 6 in the afternoon and then hooked up with a friend of mine who had flown in to oslo and was staying at a hotel just across the street from the arena. so anyway, hung out there for like an hour and then went into the arena, bought cool merchendise and a soda (i wanted to remember everything from the show) and then went to our seating, which was front row and perfectly close to the stage. i had already seen gnr at roskilde and i was front row standing there so i wanted to try something different this time, and it was awesome! alright, the opening band came on a few minutes past 7.30 and i thought they were quite good, the lead singer had alot of energy and it was kinda inspiring. more to my taste than bullet for my valentine, who was originally scheduled to open anyway. they were on for about an hour, and an hour of waiting was ahead of us. this is when i decided i wanted another soda. not the smartest move, it would turn out later. we watched the roadies get the stage ready for gnr and it was cool watching, and at 9.30, an hour before i honestly expected them, the intro started and gnr hit the stage! and MAN were they on spot! i had waited 13 years (before roskilde) to see axl live and to see him right infront of me and hearing his voice tear through the speakers was just unreal! btw, if you haven't been to a guns show you can't really judge axl's voice. trust me, it's awesome. anyway, the band tears through the usual first 4 songs and then, after a robin solo, sweet child o' mine comes on and the whole place just explodes! same with you could be mine, and even better. the crowd was actually very appreciative of the new songs, it seemed, so that was cool. anyway, their playing is perfect and i'm really enjoying the show, but by the time november rain is on my bladder is so filled up with soda that i can barely bare to sit. i enjoyed the song, but MAN was i happy too when bumblefoot was introduced so i could fucking run to the nearest bathroom during his solo (no disrespect to bumble, i really had to go or i would have exploded), so i ran through the empty halls and to the bathroom, praying inside me that i would make it back before the don't cry solo started lol, and i got back the second it started! i've never been so relieved in my life, lol. anyway, fast forward, when they played IRS, i felt that this show could not get any better, it was perfect, because i had been wanting to hear that song so badly live and i was hoping for it, as they skipped it on roskilde. it was perfect! and i was content and happy. then, it happened. axl said he was going to bring out an old friend and i figured he meant he was going to bring back an old song, but then he said "LADIES AND GENTLEMAN, MR. IZZY STRADILIN'!" and my heart skipped a beat or five! it was fucking unreal seeing them on stage together, and i enjoyed every second of it! they played think about you, patience and nightrain and then closed the show and i was ready for an encore or two. chinese democracy came on and i was thrilled, and expected paradise city to follow it. as a matter of fact, i was certain it would follow it, because that's what happened at roskilde. but then the organ tones of MADAGASCAR started, and i felt like i was in heaven, lol. this is my favourite new song and they don't play it alot anymore it seems, so i didn't even dare to hope for it. it was pure bliss hearing it live. then paradise city followed after a robin solo and the place exploded again (as did the pyro techinics and confetti, the show was filled with pyro technics), and by the time the song ended, i felt like a freight train of joy had hit me for 2 and a half hours haha, i was so exhausted my voice was gone (i dont know how axl does it for 2 hours every night), but man was i happy. what a show. i will never forget it. oh, some side notes, axl was hilarious and made alot of jokes, said it was good to be back and was in good spirits the entire show. oh, and at the end of out ta get me he screamed "so you can BITE me!" hahaha, that was hilarious. he also said "TAKE THAT TO YOUR NORWEGIAN HEARTS!", and man did this concert really find its way to my heart.
thanx for the good times, axl!
and do come back soon!
EDIT: PS: to all the girls with small tops and nice cleavages passing by right beneath where i stood, thanx!
