Who knows?  Many celebrities employ stylists but it doesn't take a stylist to figure out what current trends are.  In 2002, the image Axl came out with seemed like a misguided attempt to appeal to the current MTV generation, even though I didn't mind that style as much as a lot of fans did.  In 2006 he's just dressing like a rocker again, just wearing designer jeans and leather shirts.  The velvet sport coats he's wearing are nothing new, he wore similar ones during the UYI tour

When Axl first appeared in LA this year he was wearing a sports jersey and starting dressing "nicer".  Maybe going to all those trendy nightclubs inspired him to dress up more but who knows

Do you reckon Tommy Hilfigner got a slap for suggesting that Axl needs to get with it and "invest" in his gear  Wink

I'd like to know what designer he's wearing. His clothes are awesome, especially the jackets. Nice threads, BROTHER!

I hope not, cos he's got a crappy sense of clothing then! hihi

I think he looks fucking sharp these days. Must be a stylist though. The jerseys he wore he probably picked himself.

that white suit at the Grand Prix race was kinda tacky...but I like everything else he seems to wear on stage and his suits are very nice...the jerseys are gansta and very immature...shit he is 44 now, you can't wear that shit and feel cool anymore can you?  I know I can't, maybe a soccer jersey sure...the homies don't wear the cool soccer jerseies yet...lol...The suits are a much better representation of Axl if you ask me...but who the fucks asking me anyway...LOL...fucking Armored Saint tomorrow night at the House of Blues...

I liked the aqua color suit he wore to court in the 90's but the new suits are too flashy. Looks more like a socialite then a rockstar.

I think the black leather dress shirts, and skin-tight jeans, or any dress shirt and jeans, suits Axl better than the suits, or waistcoats, etc..

When I went to see them May 12th at the Hammerstein, I was expected Axl to come out in a Yankee's jersey or something, and it was such a nice surprise to see him in something really sharp, and eye-catching.

Now if I could only find a black leather shirt like his.. Undecided

Well...skin tight jeans are a little out of date at the moment.... also bad for your blood circulation.
am I alone in liking his jerseys?
Unlike jabba I think the aqua suits for court weren't becoming to him but his recent dark suits are rather classy and become him well.....

 confused confused confused

so, it wasn't the inactivity of the band or no news that brought Axl's hair, look, teeth threads to the board, after all, right?

^ he looked rediclous in 2002, those super long braides the tight face the jersey for each show.. He looked way to hip hop.. I like his new look better, he just goes a bit overboard... he looks kind of guidoish and it can be tacky..

Yep mike I'm sure you're the best stylist in NY. yes

MrBrOwNsToNeR, Mate if you call his recent style gay what you'd say about his 80s....les?  hihi

I think the jerseys were great. that doesn't mean I wanna see them in 06.
As I think his not showing the numbers means it's this year.

I like his new look. likewise, I liked robins 02 look and like his 06 look. I will most likely like their next styles more again.
Yep, if it looks gay, to look gay is cool.  peace

I'd like to see axl in leather pants though.

and as someone said I also think Dolce & Gabbana has something to do with his style. BUT on the other hand D&G are very critical about stars's styles including hair so I really think it might have been hard for them not to tell axl to drop those braids  rofl.

axl looks great today!  drool I especially like that kick ass leather jacket with that dragon and roses on it..cool stuff  peace

No, very carefull studied image, it has definitly image designer finger and a good one, actually he had one to develop de 90's image too, i remember an interview with the guy back in the day, and his explanations of how skirts and white shorts complemented the bad boy rock n roll image, althoug at first glance you would think the opposite. When Axl is left on his own he picks green or blue full suits  Grin
And he doesen't expose brands, the all closet was built in after an image type was chosen, and it has to look casual to do so fashion consultants pick several brands (my mum works in the bussiness).

My God, I hope that guy never got work again. Axl looked cool in the 80s. Fucking Ritz 88 was a showcase of an awesome blend of glam and metal fashion with a whole awesome twist.. And then ... boom. The UYI fashion crash.

I dont care how reputed someone is, men dont look cool in underwear and plaid.
