When he titled folders CD 1 and CD 2, he left a space between the D and the 1.... I took those out, so it would be easier for me to link to the files....

You sent him the .wav files? He told me you sent him the AC3 and then converted that to WAV to FLAC

There is, apparently some difference, as the AC3 audio track would be true lossless. At least that's what the mods at dime told me.

But whatever, no need to argue anymore, by tomorrow the whole show will be available for everyone for direct download.

So, if the only audio source of the DVD is encoded to AC3, than it is totally pointless to get wav files extracted, as they are merely extracting from the AC3 audio on the DVD, which is lossy.

However, if you converted the AC3 > Wav > to mp3 you'd lose even more quality.

every digital audio format is lossy in some kind of way, just WAV is much less lossy than compressed formats. on the other hand, it's impossible to capture a real lossless sound, simply because there's no material that could save the complete range of sounds. so every recording loses something against the original. anyway, recording with microphone isn't much similar to the original sound.

so why the fuck people keep arguing about this shit? someone needs "as lossless as possible", so something like FLAC is best solution. someone needs it just to listen and good bitrate mp3 (160kbps+) is good enough. so stop bitching about this, just grab what do you want and thank taper or uploader that you can download it. period.
