The more the tour drags on without Axl plugging CD from the stage, the more time goes on without a release date or any single, the more I realize we are no closer now to a real album, than we were 5 years ago.  I hate to say it, but I think Axl may be doing this Euro tour for some extra cash.   Look at what Metallica is doing with their Euro shows.  They're marketing in full force.  Why isn't GnR doing this?  Something's amiss.

There's been no talk of the CD release from the stage, no singles, more vague "fall or late fall dates"... its nothing new.  We've seen this over and over and over again.   Maybe GnR knows something we don't?  Maybe Bucket quit because he knew Axl would never release CD?  It just seems odd that there's really nothing different now than there was in 2002.  It seems if Axl was geniune, he'd be pimping a release date from the stage from time to time.  What's the purpose of a Euro tour then?  Its all very strange and unfortunately, all too familiar...

Dont worry. It'll come out sooner or later. If he cant release it, someone else will release it for him.

But we are really no closer now than we were in 2002, no?  Its gotta be the strangest thing I've ever seen in rock music.  I really don't think it'll be released, EVER.  Axl's 44, he's getting old... now is not the time to stall a release, but its happening.  There are no more signs now than there were 5 years ago.  I don't think its coming out.

Axl said it himself: it will come out in the late Fall. This is more than any previous indication that the record will be released.

They haven't even toured TWO full months yet.  Wait till they get back to America and start touring in September.  All indications point that the album will probably come out in the Fall and a single probably in September or early October.  If thats true, it's still 2 to 3 months away before we see that single.

I understand what you are saying. In fact, you sound just like me last year. hihi I seriously think its coming out. There's nothing to hold it back this time. Axl himself has given a timetable for release. Even if the tour failed, he knows its time to 'wrap the baby up'. Once his fanbase tires of the whole thing, then GNR and their record company are in big trouble. Just relax: We are in the home stretch. beer

Well, I just listened to the "Out ta Get Me" clip from Rock in Rio 2006.  He's finished.  That was horrible and I was a huge Axl fan back in the day!  He's not even close, folks!  That's it, he's done and that's why the album is being delayed.  His throat is screwing with him and he's getting older and older.  Its over, he'll never be able to tour the U.S.A. with that voice.  No chance in hell.  Not these days.  Its over.

I will be the first to admit this tour isn't mindblowing. You think he sounds bad on rehash? Go listen to the new songs. Better is basically the sound of an impending trainwreck. Bumblefoot cant even play the new songs. The only positive things to say about this tour is the fact that Axl is back and Finck has improved.

But this thread is about the album, not the tour. I have high hopes for the album itself. The material is amazing. He can obviously work wonders in the studio, and so can BH. Conveying these songs(and others when the album is out) in a live setting will be a difficult task. But in fairness to Axl, he has only toured a few months in the past 13 years, so he must be given some slack in that regard.

Hear Hear!!! Its quite depressing to read it too! Looks like Mr Lofton is up to old tricks again as well! Considering your in the states so you have not been to any of the shows in europe thats quite a statement to say they are not mindblowing! Mike

After seeing GNR in concert myself it just makes people even more dumb....I had a slight idea they were wrong before experiencing it personally....and now I know they are clueless.

What old tricks? The talking about facts "tricks"?  No amount of 20 year old rehash will ever blow my mind, and until BBF can learn to play these new songs the way they are supposed to be played, those new songs wont be blowing my mind anytime soon either. I'm sure Axl's voice will improve as he gets used to touring again, and maybe at some point BBF will learn the new songs. Kind of ironic that a man brought in to play BH's parts is most recognized as doing a good job on DC, Nighttrain, and NR. nervous

If Axl refuses to release the album within the next year or two, I think the record company will try and cut there losses and release the album with out Axls blessing, and see what sales they can get from it, then simply move on.

It probably will come, regardless if Axl wants it to or not.

whats with you mate? i just read both threads in whcih you were involved and it seems you hate GnR? why are you here then. it seems to me the only people here are the people who are fans of the new band/ fans of the old band but are watching with interest/ or bored and jus lookng around. you fall in none of these catergories!

you seem determined to slate axl, the band, and say completely negative things about the band. if you're not a fan and are just trying to start shit, people will get tired, you'll be drawn into a message board shit flinging match and eventually be banned, inevitable save yourself the time and go home!

say something positive, i dare you.....
