Seriously, I don't mind the kid , it was obvious anyway after watching Superman II.

SPOILER:!? ?there is a part where Lex Luther makes an entire island out of kryptonite (or an island where kryptonite grows out of the ground) any ways superman should'nt be near that damn rock-? but nooo-? he flys his little blue shorts down to hang out with lex. who punches the hell out him and stabs him with a piece of kryptonite -? it should kill him but it does'nt? that pissed me off,? then what does he do?? ?he lifts the whole thing out of the water and throws it into space? when just before lex was able to bitchslap him around it made no sence

I remeber saying the same thing, I only came up with this. Perhaps the rock was a mix between rock  and krypto so when he lift it was from the part of the rock, you see when he is in space the krypto is starting to get out from the rock and thats when he gets affected so I think thats the reason why he can carry that big rock, yet i dont know what else to think.

Under the kryptonite landmass were layers of earth rock he used as protection, which is why he dove into the sea under the seabed. But the layers of earth rock started to break off at the end and exposed the kryptonite.

Terrible movie.  The plot was ridiculous and made NO sense.  Superman doesn't do anything!?!?  I don't think he throws one punch in this movie.  The air plane scene was well done and a great way to re-introduce superman to the world, but outside of that....ugh.  Louis husband did more and showed more courage then superman did!!  Routh was great, but louis was just awful.  She did a pretty bad impersonation of margot kidder.  I thought Jimmy was well done too, great casting there.  Lex was ok, but I couldn't get over his stupid plot.  made zero sense at all.

and the kid....sigh, dear god.  FUCKING RETARDED!!!!  really opens up a shit storm for the next few movies.  I hope he gets sent away to boarding school and isn't in the next few movies.

oh and the ending?  my god, shave off the last 25 minutes...total waste of time!!!!

box office wise this is a HUGE disappoitnment, its not even at 200 million domestic. 

Pirates 2 was much better.  Very disappoitned in superman, it just missed really bad if you ask me.  There are so many cool superman stories they could have used too.

Well there are going to be two more sequels, maybe you'll like them better. I disagree, I totally loved the movie but I agree with you on Routh, I think he's a great Superman too. Superman Returns and the X-Men movies are pretty much the only comic book movies I like that came out these recent years, Batman Begins was alright but I don't like any of the other ones. I can only watch them if I like the characters

Agree on Brandon routh he even stuied very well Christophers personification of Clark specially the scene when clark is
returnin to the Planet with the eyeglasses thing, very cool 
Also agree on Lois I think she is too young and also she's a real blonde for god sakes, i didn't like her either  but I love the movie
