Wanting to get a new player. Whats good?

I basically want something easy to use and organise files. I used to use Winamp like 7 years ago but this latest version baffles me.

Any advice?

Well, Winamp  ok

I've always used it and I'm yet to find a player that's better.

I like the organisational abilities and layout of iTunes. Ive used it since I got my iPod (crafty marketers). But now Im looking for something that chews less RAM and has FLAC compatability.

Oh well ... Im downloading iTunes now. Ill try other stuff out, but I guess its easy to stick with what you know.

iTunes because its easy to use and very easy to keep things organized.
also i have an ipod, which is probably the real reason i use it.

on the negative end, it does take up a lot of ram and when u move  a song (for example froom one folder to another) Itunes wont recongize it and you will have to double click the song in itunes and find the song on your computer. im not if all audio programs do this or just itunes but it really sucked when i got my new external hardrive, moved a whole folder of about 800 songs from C drive to F drive and then had to locate every song in iTunes (it took about 10 days)

Most audio players have iPod compatibility. Winamp does and its better than the iTunes method IMO.

One thing that bugs me about iTunes is how it acts like a over-zealous mother by restructuring your mp3 folders by default and stuff.

The free version of MusicMatch Jukebox.. it also contains the option to convert audio files into other types. I use it alot.. it's also easy to use.

See specs: http://www.musicmatch.com/download/plus/jukebox_intro.htm?OS=pc&MODE=input&BTD=1&DID=&source=portal_page

And the download link: http://www.musicmatch.com/download/free/?OS=pc

I still use the old school version of winamp.  I never upgraded and it works great.  So much easier and not all plastered with shit you don't use.

Thats what Im damn tempted to do right now. I keep my mp3 tags organised enough that I can find anything easy enough if I want to.

I use iTunes for my iPod transfering stuff, just think its easier, drag something into the library and then bam right onto the iPod. But for listening, I use Winamp for FLAC's and all audio like that, but occasionally I'll use WMP for mp3's and wav's.

For the most part I use Musicmatch 8.2 Plus. If you like things simple use Foobar.

I use URGE. It's good for organizing songs and the burning process is generally fast. It's relative to the standard windows media player. You can download it from MTV.com.
