This band is capable to play other songs... such as welcome to the jungle, paradise city ... november rain (i like bf 's solo)... They are all of them amazing musicians and I guess they are able to play estranged too... but I don t think that Axl wants that... He doesn t even sing Don t cry ? and there aren t many songs of UYI albums on their set list... so I guess we ll never know if they can or not...

I think if they practise or rehearse the song they can play it. same as any band! i dont think it would be correct like the ones who write the song,. even dizzy has said not many ppl can play those songs correctly. thats all.  wish i could hear them try to play it but i think they dont play it coz they dont know it. its not what they know. thats why they cant play it!

coz its a good song! its the best song! its better than a 10 min long solo from gum shoes or foot guiter! its way better than hearing those two paly on and on. thats more boring than hearing estranged!

they used to play estranged and coma at concerts too... and nobody had problem listening to these songs for 20 minutes... so don t think that reason for not playing it is that its a 10min long song....

So... the guitarists can play the Nightrain solo.. November Rains solo.. but not Estranged? I doubt it.  But you do have a point with the fact that its better than a bunch of random solos.... then again the solos are for Axl to have some rest time.

The old band rarely played either Coma or Estranged. And for good reason.. too long... and not enough popularity. There may have been rare occasions where one or the other would be played.. but it was rare. And was there a show where both were played? Cause that would be a lonnnnnnnng 20 min for the casual fan.

Either way.. Estranged is just not a concert song... I honestly wouldn't want it in the set.

Actually Estranged is much easier to play than the likes of November Rain, Sweet Child O' Mine, Paradise City and much of the new songs. No musician argues with the fact that the new band are technically better than the old band, so they could play it easy enough. In fact three guitars could make it sound slightly better live than the original live version which struggled to replicate the multi layered studio version.

As for when did we talk about estranged before, well about a million times. It seems to be a fan favourite on this board and is by far the most requested song for the new band to play.

They don't play it because Axl can't sing it. He's out of breath singing the first verse to jungle and that?s the first song they play. If they were to play Estranged he'd have to bring his oxygen tent on stage with him. As far as the band I think Fink would butcher the song he maybe one of the worst guitar players I ever heard. How some of you love this guy is beyond me. He's awful.

Axl seems to have distanced himself from the Illusion songs. Probably because of the complex nature of those songs and the inability of being able to teach the new band what exactly Slash was playing in those songs. Slash was all about playing with feeling and I think only Richard has some of that. You can't teach feeling and judging by the boots you can't imitate it either.

it was not their best, and no it was not there long, they've did better performances and it was an average time show. their longest was in Inglewood, CA on the fourth night.
