People have waited a long time for this

His name is gonna be forever linked to this album.  Will there be pics of him in the booklet?  Will he get the urge to play some of his GNR stuff live?  I would love to see him do some one-off shows with the band on the U.S. tour after the album drops.  I'm so happy with the band now and yeah Axl is in a better place than '02, but I miss bucket.  Can't help it....... He gets a performance roality check only if he performed on any of the songs.  But he may have been paid outright when the songs were recorded so therefore no performance royality check.  On the other hand if he had a hand in writing any of the material he would get a writers royality.  All of this is nonsense since the album is not out and if and when the album get's released he won't see a check for quite sometime.  We will see if any of his work is actually on the album.  We know Bumblefoot won't replace his work but that doens't mean someone else may have repleace his trax.

It seems that according to all sources, Buckethead's parts will remain.  Tommy and Dizzy have both stated or strongly implied his parts will stay, and Bumblefoot has said he won't be re-recording any of Bucket's parts.  The other problem is that re-recording isn't a simple task.  If he played a role in writing the song he still has to get paid, or they have to completly rework his parts so they no longer resemble what Buckethead wrote, and this doesn't seem like a viable option at this point considering that they've had 2 years since he left to re-record his parts and according to sources within the band it never happened.  It's not a case of re-recording, like Gilby did with Izzy's parts on TSI, because Izzy didn't write those songs

I hope Axl gives Buckethead the credit he deserves and leaves his work on the album. I think Buckethead is a good guy, he just probably didn't fit well with all the aspects of the band besides the music. I don't think BH had any interest being a fixture at aftet partys or really fitting in with/bonding with the band. I think he respect Axl, he respected the oppurtunity Axl gave him to help Guns N Roses make Chinese Democracy, but in the end he didn't have the patience to wait around.

I miss him too, I wish we could get the whole story as to what actually happened.

You can tell Axl respects Buckethead too, because he thanked him for his contributions to the album and never said anything negative about him except that he was unpredictable and there were times when the band couldn't get in touch with him, which Axl has to be able to relate to at least a little bit  hihi

Why would Gilby have replaced anything Izzy did on TSI? Izzy did'nt do any parts on TSI as he was'nt in the band by then.

Because TSI was basically recorded during the period after AFD, and during the UYI days.  Axl was obviously still bitter about Izzy quitting, so he had Gilby re-record Izzy's parts on TSI.  So Gilby got paid for that album and Izzy didn't, even though the fees were probably not that great.  Axl, Izzy, Duff, and Slash will be receiving fat royalty checks the rest of their lives due to what the wrote and recorded for AFD and the UYI albums.  They get paid for TSI but not nearly as much since they didn't write the songs

Exactly that's why I feel like Buckethead's solos ect. are gonna be released.  He had a huge part in CD.  Give him his due ya know.   Undecided

You'll probably just see a small "with additional work from B. Carroll" in there or something.

My guess is the booklet for "Chinese Democracy" will be similar to the UYI booklet. Under each song in the book, credits will be listed for who played on each one.

For example:

IRS- lyrics by W. Axl Rose

Vocals-W. Axl Rose
Lead Guitar- Robin Finck, Buckethead
Bass- Tommy Stinson
Drums- Brain
Keyboards- Dizzy Reed
Rhythm guitar- Richard Fortus
Programming- Chris Pitman

And then in the booklet, my guess is it will feature a group shot of the entire band (current w/Ron), and maybe an individual shot of each member.

Just a guess, I'm not claiming to actually know, but it seems logical.

Yes, I really hope it will be as detailed as the UYI-booklets!

Or we will have:

Lyrics: Axl Rose
Music: Axl Rose + guest musicians? hihi Roll Eyes Tongue
