This is something written based on a novel I wrote a long time ago.



The year was 1944
Young Charlie kissed his Ma' and went out through the door
He went over the sea to fight for his land,

His very best friend was killed on the beach,
Got a shot in the head an' fell down to his feet
''Move on'' said the chief ''And fight for your land,
You gotta fight for freedom, You gotta be a man''

''Yeah, I've got a job to do, gotta kill with no fear
So I ain't got time to shed a tear''
Said Charlie and ran to fight for his land,
to fight for freedom with that gun in his hand

One day Charlies mother got a letter in the mail sayin'
''Well, too bad, but your son is dead''
But at least young Charlie fought for his land,
He fought for freedom and his deeds were grand.

I wrote this a few weeks ago after my ex and I broke up over some bullshit circumstantial stuff.
