Guns N' Roses lead singer Axl Rose, arrested in Stockholm on Monday after allegedly biting a security guard, has been kept locked up by Swedish prosecutors.

"The reason I've decided to keep him locked up is that there's a risk that he'll disappear, and then we won't be able to have a trial," prosecutor Fredrik Ingblad told The Local.

Ingblad said that he can hold Rose for up to three days before he needs to apply to a court to keep him locked up beyond then.

"There is a possibility that there could be a hearing this evening, and I could decide to drop the decision to keep him in custody, but we have not reached that point yet," he told The Local at 5:30pm on Monday.

The veteran star is facing charges of assaulting a security guard and criminal damage against Stockholm's exclusive Berns Hotel. Tabloid reports in Sweden quote witnesses saying Rose bit the security guard on the leg. Police have neither confirmed nor denied the reports.

Biting someones leg?      I love Axl and think its very rock n' roll to get into fights and trash things/places, but biting a dude in the leg?  Reminds me of tyson/holyfield.  I hope Axl isn't becoming more wierd then cool

You do know what a security guard is right? Its not a cop. If you went to a concert and was moshing, and one of those guards pinned you down hurting you, you would not try to get him off you in anyway?

Rocker Rose arrested in Stockholm

Guns N' Roses singer Axl Rose has been arrested in Sweden for alleged violent conduct and damage to a hotel room. Rose is alleged to have bitten a security guard in the leg outside the Berns Hotel, in Stockholm.


The rock star could face up to four years in prison if charged and convicted of violent conduct.
The group, whose hits include Welcome to the Jungle, Paradise City and Sweet Child O' Mine, played a concert at the city's Globe Arena on Monday.
Police said Rose was being held in a cell and would be questioned later about the incident that took place at about 0800 local time (0600 GMT) on Tuesday. The group are believed to have attended a nightclub in the city before the incident.

Hah, yeah I know....a lot of American newspapers use radically fugly pics of Axl from the VMAs when reporting a story on GN'R or Axl Rose. Uh......why must they use such bad pics when there are so many recent, better ones out!

Well i guess it proves just how out of touch non fans are. They probably didn't even know GnR were on tour until Axl was arrested. Atleast being arrested as put GnR in the news, all be it for all the wrong reasons. So nothing new there, bussiness as usual
