I saw them the first time end of 86'....i think. They played at the Club Lingerie in Hollywood. A band called Prodigal Sons opened up..there was only about 15 people at the show...

At the Top for me.

I've been to about 6 Guns shows: (none after 92 tho    Embarrassed )
I had 2nd row center seats at the Aug 3, 1991 show at the LA Forum. Looking back it was the best $400 (2 tix) I ever spent.   Grin  They played for about 4 hours. Skid Row came out, i think Shannon Hoon sang as well.  Axl kept going and you got the feeling that the concert could go through the night.

Can't wait until I get to see them this fall.   beer

Chris Robinson solo was pretty good but nothing compared to the Black Crowes last year and in 06.. they are absolutely on FIRE!!!!!!!!

top  best shows  1) hob nye gnr 2) 4th hammerstein show 3) 1st hamemrstein 4) ozzy- roseland 5) chris robinson solo at the troubador in la 6) megadeth acoustic set bills bar boston 7) plant/page NJ Cool black sab Nassau, LI 9) Korn 1st tour at a small long island clun called the roxy 10) Twisted Fuckin Sister  NY steel/roseland tied with Twisted in Vegas last year.  I know it wasnt asking for all the best shows I've been to but I thought it was good to show a top 10 to show where I rank the 3 gnr shows compared to the others ive been to.

I saw that Chris Robinson solo tour here in Detroit at St. Andrews and it was awesome.

i've seen a ton of great shows but i still think that GNR at the HOB for new years is #1 for me, I had waited soooo long to see Axl play live and all the buildup just was insane!!! it was an electric night and i waited in line the longest time ever for a concert.

the first night of the Hammerstein was also right up and right after are the other Vegas Hard Rock shows and the 2nd night of Hammerstein.  i cant wait to finally see them back in LA.

so, GNR gigs definitely fill up my top 20 gigs of all time.. no one can match Axl's stage persona, at least for the bands i have seen!!!

The first show in Vegas on Dec. 00' was killer.  Not so much about the band being on, but NOBODY knew what to expect.  No Demos, no leaks, no pictures of the band......Hell, Everyone in line was checking each other's tickets to see if they were real since this was the first show in over seven years.  The show didn't start til around 3 in the morning and it was definitely a surreal experience for anyone that was at HOB.  I've seen better sounding  guns shows in a lot of ways, but everything surrounding that show made it the best ever.

Since I've seen them 3 times...Buffalo 7-25-92, Boston 12-2-02, and NY City 5-12-06...obviously #1, 2, and 3.  Ranking these?  Hammerstein and Buffalo with Metallica tied for #1.  Boston a close #2...still in awe of that inhuman '02 LALD scream.  yes

Ummm not sure bout the greatest but VR in Cardiff was wild..

But the best has to be Skid Row...saw em in an intimate 200 seater and got to be shaking hands with the band on stage and getting guitar picks and all was MAD.

Buffalo 7-25-92,

Cool - I was there too!? Great show!? ok? I even caught a guitar pick during Metallica.? Grin

Awesome!  They would have had to flick that pick pretty damn far to get it to us up in the upper deck of Rich Stadium!!!  Some idiot through one of those industrial sized toilet paper rolls he stole from an upper deck bathroom, and chucked it off the edge.  It hit someone hard, and oh yeah, guys came up to the upper deck and beat the crap out of the moron.  Not smart!

Brave chick being on the floor for that show!  During the show we literally saw people being body-slammed to the hard turf in the many mosh-pits!  You all looked like little ants!   By any chance would you happen to know the attendance for that show?  I'm curious.  The program I have from the show is very cool!  A definite keeper.  ok
