Here Today... Fuck The Hell

« Reply #20 on: June 27, 2006, 09:43:15 AM »

all of you who are posting against mr. dizzy reed should probably just kill yourselves... immediately.

dizwald has been a foundation for the band ever since it almost completely collapsed in the late 90s and has been a friend to Axl in the times when he most needed one.? He's truly helped Axl through some tough times... most notably in 2002 with Axl struggling to continue the tour due to the reviews GNR were getting which Mr. Rose reads and unfortunately does take to heart, almost without exception.

that aside, Dizzy is an incredible musician in his own right... I can tell you that first hand.? His piano solos on this most recent tour are but a small glimpse of the talents he holds.? He holds in his record great songwriting, top-class piano/keyboard-playing, and he's not a bad singer also.

and lastly, and most importantly, he is a phenomenal guy.? About as down-to-earth as a rock star can well... possibly be.? He's the type of guy who is absolutely without ego... and he'll be the first person to tell you that.

so... until you understand all the facts... or well even a small proportion of all the facts... keep your mouth shut.

Ah so your view on it are the facts? Wink

When Dizzy was brought in everyone was against it and according to Izzy nobody even talked to him the first 2 weeks, they just ignored him. He didn't even own a keyboard.

Dizzy does nothing for me.. he just jumped the bandwagon and to me he's a "yes" - man.

I don't like Dizzy. I've never liked him from the very first time a saw him at Wembley Stadium.

I don't like his face, his hair, his eyes, his clothes,

That's superficial. A really weak reason not to like someone.

guess what?

I'm not saying you're wrong.  All you're saying is probably true.  Heck, I was bossing Dizzy around for a bit when we were hanging out... he's just a nice & easy-going guy who doesn't care about all the politics of whose in command of the band and whatnot...

But, that aside, why does that rule out his importance in the present existence of GNR?

Firstly, your quote "He's the type of guy who is absolutely without ego... and he'll be the first person to tell you that', Hmmm, no ego, doesn't sound like anyone who's in GNR to me...probably why he's so dull...come on, do you really think the solos are any good, honestly?

Secondly, my quote "I don't like his face, his hair, his eyes, his clothes", this was kind of a joke, people take things too seriously...but seriosly, he does have really weird eyes, definately very dark thought inside his head... peace

You need to calm down a bit, mate...I think the comment someone made that he was Dizzy's mum was a JOKE.

So what if he know's Dizzy personally, that's got nothing to do with us discussing if he is an important part of GNR.

And again, my comment "I don't like his face", so what, I don't like it, I probably wouldn't like yours either..,

Well, frankly, if we are going to be talking about Dizzy - his personality, his music etc., Id like to hear it from someone who knows what they are talking about.

Which isnt you.

And speaking of Dizzy anyway, I love the dude. I think his parts have added an extra layer of blues to the band.

Yeah, but I know as much about Dizzy as the next person, I've seen him play, I've got the records...what else is there, oh yeah, ""he's a really cool dude, man"... so what...if you can't handle a slightly negative and jokey comment then just don't read on...it only started as a funny thread...not who knows Dizzy the most...I don't want to know him...I know enough, send my regards

I don't like Dizzy. I've never liked him from the very first time a saw him at Wembley Stadium.

I don't like his face, his hair, his eyes, his clothes, or his incredibly boring piano solos?

I don't like hearing him in interviews, as if he's original GNR, he seems less original than new GNR members

Why is he in GNR?

Is this just something I should deal with, or do others often ponder "why is Dizzy?"
 no yes no yes no

Now here's a thread for something I've always thought of asking when someone disses Dizzy as being a "yes man."

How do you differentiate between a man with similar vision, values & opinions etc. as another (in this case Axl) and a "yes man"?

I don't know which one Dizzy is, but neither do people on this board. Yes, the evidence suggests that he's a "yes man" basically for gratitude towards Axl, but that's circumstancial. Maybe Axl wanted exactly him onboard in the first place because he saw their visions, personalities or whatever fit well together! And the lack of conflicts or the "dullness" or whatever you're complaining about Mr. Reed is just a result of him really agreeing with Axl (in his heart too, not just on the outside) and therefore having no need to voice his opinion. Not to us anyway!

"Yes men" will always say "yes", but so will those who agree!

I'm trying really hard to understand the point of this thread.

So, we should explain to you why you SHOULD like Dizzy?

I mean, if you don't like him, fine, why should we all talk about it?

You don't have to do anything...i just wanted to see if others felt the same, that's all...I'll remember never to talk about things I don't like in the future...maybe the whole of society should do this, that would make life REALLY interesting...oh hang on, aren't we allowed to be critical of things? "Oh no, please don't attack the sacred Dizzy Reed"... you people make me laugh rant

You call this critic?

I don't like Dizzy. I've never liked him from the very first time a saw him at Wembley Stadium.

 no yes no yes no

All you're saying is that you don't like the guy. That's your problem.

I don't think anyone can change your opinion about him so why keep on talking about it.

And if you find other people who share the same feelings as you, then what? Will you start a "I hate Dizzy" forum, or one of those Dizzy Haters Anonymous meetings?

Fuck it, I'll leave this open for a bit more and see how it goes.

Stop raggin on poor Dizzy!  The solo he did at Hammersmith was beautiful.  He's an important player in the band.
