Wow, why'd they use that pasty-faced picture? There are so many "better" ones.

Interesting to see that nearly 3/4 of the general public (in this poll anyway) think that 80s icon should have stopped/stayed in the 80s. Of course that poll figure will change now since it's been posted here and it's ovious which way it's going to sway.

And anyway, he never intended to have CD be a come back, he's just took so long it's turned into one.

Bon Jovi had the exact same numbers flip flopped (74% said to keep on rocking).

They also think Ozzy and Crue should have quit too.
Nah, it's great to have those guys still out there!

I don't think its meant to be taken so literally.  The point of the poll is for artists with two very distinct periods of their careers, was the first part their best and should they have stopped there, or are they still rocking out in the latter part of their careers.

Well, obviously... Lots of people are going to think that without a new album out... Just wait till CD comes out and it's likely people will change their mind.... Most people think he should quit instead of keep on rocking, because he's just playing the same old stuff over and over again.

I just voted...now 73% to 27%...let's go folks.  Wink

Obviously, the results so far are no surprise, and I'm actually surprised it's as high as 27% with no new material in freaking ages.  Once folks hear the new shit, they'll poop their pants.  It's that good.   yes

The only reason Bon Jovi got those numbers is because all the 40 yr. old moms and 14 yr. girls think he's the hot shit...  smoking

GNR and Axl were much more popular in the... 90's. I don't understand this "GNR = 80's" thing.

Yeah basically until about March of 88 they still hadn't became huge yet, but that's when it took off. Then the released Lies and basically that was it....very very very little touring in 89.  So you can basically say they were a mainstream band for a year and a half in the 80s.

The album that defined the band was released in 87, so they will forever and always be thought of as an 80's band even if they had their most commercial success in the 90's. If you think about it, of their 6 year existance, half were in the 80's, so it is not out of line to think of them as an 80's band.
