GnFnR

« on: June 26, 2006, 01:47:41 AM »

So Guns N Roses are making a comeback !!! well everyone on this message board is a huge fan right.  Well when the Album drops and they go on US Tour they will be on top of the music world.

Only problem I have is right now there is this buzz right where only the hardcore fans know about the Hammerstein Show's, Rock in Rio ect well im afraid that everyone and there brother will hop on the GnR bandwagon.  I have a feeling like the age group of 14-18 will hear the new stuff and be like OH THERE MY FAVORITE BAND I just bought Ashlee Simpsons CD now im gonna go get Chinese Democracy.

I can't stand it when you like a artist and some other guy who may have heard Welcome To The Jungle and November Rain once will all of a sudden just be like oh they rock Guns N Roses rules.  I just feel like todays music fans don't appericate good music today its LIKE OH EVERYONE IS LISTENING TO THIS BAND WELL IM GONNA LISTEN TO THEM TOO.  What do ya think ?

Hopefully kids do fall in love with GnR.  It would be nothing but good, maybe it would open some eyes, inspire some younger kids to start making some ambitious and more complicated rock music again opposed to what's dominating the scene right now

"the age group 14-18"

if they listen to Guns N Roses, that's cool.. let them do it!

well, it will be worse if they still prefer Fall Out Boy over GnR.. no

but once they start to like GnR I hope they will go deep in their research.. not like a lot of kids these days that say they love Green Day, yet they probably only heard American Idiot..

I agree.  It's kind of hypocritical to hope young kids don't get into GnR when so many of us got into GnR when we were young kids  Tongue

You think its a bad thing that masses of people might get into the band?

Bring it the fuck on. Its been years since anyone outside the fan community cared about GnR.

Yeah, let's hope GN'R won't bring any new fans.  Let's hope no one else but us, the "real" fans, will like the new album.  Let's hope radio stations won't play GN'R music again, at least not the new songs.  And please, o God, please let's hope GN'R won't be able again to sell out huge stadiums, arena's, ...   Roll Eyes

Exactly. We are the only ones who should be allowed to like Guns N Roses because we have followed for years. (Nevermind, of course, that we probably got into GnR exactly like the thread creator described)

I find that people usually start out like you mentioned just liking the band becuase it's cool to like them but that passes and people soon start to dig a little deeper. They'll discover the old tunes, all the albums etc, it'll be like  "this is great what else have they done? I'll find out."  and to be honest I don't mind that.

There is alot of appeal in the old catalogue, for young and new fans alike...

Just the other day I was suntanning at the beach with Appetite on the ol' ghetto blaster, when a lady in her mid-thirties came up to me while Sweet Child O' Mine was playing and asked me if I wouldn't mind turning it up a tad because it was her daughter's favorite song...

When she left and I looked in her direction, her daughter couldn't have been more than 14, or 15.

I think the biggest mistake Axl could possibly make would be having an album of unaccessable to the average music fan, "epics" that only us diehards would ever potentially drool over... Undecided

well, i am 16. i love gn'r, so so much, and no one can say i only listen to sweet child, paradise city etc. i hardly listen to them, i love the songs, but they are so overplayed, just because they are gn'rs most famous songs doesn't mean they are they're best. also, i dont like guns n' roses because everyone else likes them, most of my mates hate gn'r, they like the crap music out like slipknot and that rubbish. alot of the guys rip it outta me for liking gn'r, but i love them. when i say 'them' i don't mean the new line up, it isnt guns n' roses, its just rose. but it doesnt stop me from seeing them. i went to see adlers appetite aswell. just because i am only 16 doesnt mean i dont love gn'r any less than you.

Good for you SESOR! I love seeing those young folks out there wearing GNR gear, always makes my day.

As far as I'm concerned: THE MORE THE MERRIER! And what if they are only into the hits? I can't wait to hear some decent music played on my radio, I can't wait for people to hum along to BETTER in the tube, I can't wait to see the new videos. And if kids like the new music, no matter if they take the time to look for the other 'old' songs, credit to them!

it isnt about age. just because i was born after you does NOT mean i don't have the right to appreciate great music. i check this site practically everyday. i've loved gn'r for years, not just because they're beginning to get out there again and touring. i
