I just watched those bootlegs and I noticed that on Rock in Rio Axl performs DTJ differently. In the end of the song, he says a lot of things, however, in other concerts, he never says that.
What's up with that?
Also, would you want Axl to peform DTJ in the new tour?
Do you think he grew out of it?
Since Izzy Stradlin wrote it, I can't see why he can't perform it in his appearances?

I seriously doubt it. That was as much an Izzy song as they come.

What does he say after DTJ? I could never understand.

It was an awesome segue into WTTJ.

I think things are different because at the time of RIR, DTJ was BRAND NEW... After a while Axl just added/ changed things.... Like in YCBM: "with your ass in the air!", or the SCOM "Woah oh Woah oh Woah oh"... I've heard so many live versios of those songs, when i hear the studio versions, it sounds wrong.....

Like RIR 3 Blues version... "OK Nevermind" I say or think it 100% of the time?now Grin

Before all my posts about subjective matters there should be an IMO before the post. I took this sig down but of course it has to go back up.

I love DTJ France, if not for the solid performance then for the Warren Rant by Axl  rant

I believe that's the bridge riff from Welcome Home Sanitarium by Metallica.

As for the bits he sings at the end, that's just improvised probably. Axl always does that. No different to Slash playing solos differently live. Doubt they put too much thought into it tbh.

In Rock in Rio 2 it was the first time the band had performed in nearly a year. Axl forgot the words to a lot of the songs, look a jungle or nightrain and he improvised somewhat. Maybe he just forgot and improvised on DTJ too.
