Good point as far as the thread title.  The credits will likely list anywhere from 3-8 guitarists (what is the final count, anyway?) for any given track, which should make for some intersting reading.

But for the completist who needs to know which musician is playing which exact note or solo and when, may I suggest the optional "Chinese Democracry: The Offical Strategy Guide," featuring track-by-track maps of all involved in the production and recording, bonus information, background history on all the players, excruciatingly-detailed charts, listening tips, and a complete guide to the secret unlockable bonus tracks hidden within the album.  Only $15, on sale the day CD hits (yes, I mean this as joke, but when you think about it, it's surprising the music industry hasn't done something like this yet...)

Oh man - there are a million books out there on each of the Beatles albums. I was reading one on the White Album at a friends house from like the 70s. Turns out that with what weve realised in the time between then and now proves 90% of the book is bullshit.

Ok, I didnt know that  those 2 songs were written between 6-8 years ago. Thats hardly a plus point for Axl though dont you think? If thats the case then this album will already be hideously outdated by the time it comes out. If he wrote those songs all that time ago and he still thinks that Rhiad is good enough to make the cut, then I more worried than I was before.

I'm concerned about this too.. will some of the songs sound dated because they were written 8 years ago?? nervous

True.  Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of the video game strategy guides you see all the time to help get through and make sense of the game...

The Blues, IRS, TWAT, and CITR were all written in the 1998-2000 period so probably not

I'll settle for getting my hands on the CD.  I'll worry about how good it is after that.

I think they will simply have a picture of the recording artists inside the cover which will fold out from new york to dublin.

I also reckon there will be at least 500 songs on the album  .For example.....

Track 1.The blues (1998
Track 2.The blues (1999 & so on right up to 2006 )

This goes for each song /producer /musician etc etc etc etc

with a band that has changed so much over the years, and an album that's taken so long to make, I hope it comes with an extensive credits note with all the people that had any involvement addressed, I think it would make a good read, besides I'm curious to know who was part of what hehe

Do you think they will still remember who wrote what after all the time that's passed?   hihi

I would love to hear a beatles anthology style set of albums with a bunch of alternate takes and different players on the tunes.

There are so many different versions of Straweberry Fields by the Beatles that there are whole bootlegs dedicated to just that song, it's amazing. I think it would be so cool to have the 'Alternate Democracy' bootleg series where for instance you get 'The Blues' with Zakk Wyled on guitar (I have no idea if he ever recorded anything with Axl but let's pretend shall we?), and some really early version of say, Chinese Democracy that was all NIN style and totally different incarnations of GnR mk. II, or if it exists the stuff they worked on right before Duff split.
